Why do some CEOs support protest resulting in destruction and looting of their own stores and some of the American media seem to support protest and riot? It does make dramatic advertising and news stories, so money for them, but there is more. Many now seem to think protest does something. The recent George Floyd protests want to change police brutality, by anger. Does it change anything? If if does change something, is it good, just and right? What should a Christian think?

When the political world is in turmoil, often there are signs also the natural world. In Revelation political upheaval is called an earthquake, the most notable being the dramatic world-changing earthquake of the French Revolution which followed years of signs and strange weather from a massive volcanic eruption in Iceland in 1783-4. The political earthquake occurring now, however, is dispersed, in diverse places. There are a string of earthquakes in divers places.

It is Mother's Day and the wind left open notes from the Bible to a page this morning where I had written “I am a Jealous God.. Honour thy Father and Mother.” I was reading also “Cursed be he that sets light by his Father or Mother.” Deut 27:16. Why and how do we honour?

When I check the news these days there often is no news at all except moves to prevent effects, or the effects of this Covid-19 virus. But the world has not stood still, the actions to combat the virus itself is changing the world, and also it is changing the dynamics of ongoing political processes. What if God saw whatever foolishness caused this virus, and let if happen in His time, then chose to let play out His way? We can't know, but if this virus pushes events towards fulfilling an expected end, we begin to wonder.

In relation to the Corona Virus going about the globe with just enough infectivity without symptoms to be hard to trace and just enough morbidity to cause a dramatic collapse in a nation's health care system, Governments, not knowing where the virus is, have ordered people to stay home. As the world struggles to control this new virus, new research has emerged regarding images of micro droplets emitted while speaking, that remain suspended in the air for hours. What is amazing is that the Bible references the intimacy of sharing micro-droplets and Social Distancing.

One thing that should strike someone reading the Bible is how interactive the God of the Bible is; right from the beginning and to the end. So did something change? What if it didn’t?
