7 times pass over him: the decree of the Watchers

8th December 2013, hej

The king of Babylon was made as a beast for 7 years (times), and was a witness to all generations, that the living may know that the Most High rules in the nations.

In the vision a tree, which provided shadow from the sun to beasts, is cut down and is bound and 7 times pass over it. As the sun has the most impact on earth of bodies in the sky, and as the vision specifically mentions 'shadow', the times refered to seem most rightly understood as 7 complete circuits of the sun's pattern (which is 7 years).

If the action is a symbol where each day is a year, then there were 7 times of 365 days. To be fully accurate, in addition 5hrs and some minutes and seconds must be added. This results in 2555 years plus 1 year and approximately 5.5months, a total of 2556 years 5.5months.

We are told a beast's heart is given to Nebuchadnezzar in his pride.

This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men. (Daniel 4:17)

In being given a beast's heart, Nebuchadnezzar became a symbol of the basest of men. These men are like beasts who have no power to praise their Creator with their intellect.

Then in the first year of Belshazzar Daniel is shown in a vision a sucession of beasts that arise from the sea (ch.7). This vision has a time span that lasts until the “son of man came” taking away their power. Belshazzar is unable to see the power of Daniel's God, and so his kingdom is taken.

The great ruler who arose was Cyrus the Persian. The meaning of the name 'Cyrus' is apprently related to the word for sun. He is sometimes praised as model ruler by humans, but there is no record he is ever honoured with a vision from God or hearing the words of a prophet. In addition legend has it he was raised as a herdsman. Others would follow in his steps, and all would be 'the basest of men.'

The defining Battle of Opis where the kingdom is taken from Nebuchadnezzars dynasty was fought in September 539 BC. The Nabonidus Chronicle records that the battle took place in the month of Tashritu (27 September-27 October)

On the 12 October Ug/Gubaru, governor of Gutium, and the army of Cyrus without a battle entered Babylon. wikipedia Opis

On October 29, Cyrus himself entered the city of Babylon and detained Nabonidus. wikipedia Cyrus the Great

It seems that Cyrus makes a decree allowing Jews to return to their land in late 538BC, in the first year of his reign. The cyrus cyliner is thought to record his decrees (The British Museum puts the Cylinder's date of origin at between 539–530 BC Wikipedia).

Jews arrived in the Holy Land from exile in 537BC (which seems agreed in all sources) and were there in the 7th month for Tabernacles, about October.

“Cuneiform records from Babylon suggest that Cyrus died on 4 December 530BCE.” cyrusthegreat.net

To caculate the end of eras that cross over the years CE, due to the changer of times, there is an adjustment of 4 years which seems consistently to work into modern eras. These adjusted times would be 29 October 539 (543 before CE), and October 537 (541 before CE) and 4 December 530 (534 before CE). To add 2556 and 5.5 months, the very end of 7 solar revolutions (approximately), these eras would end in 29 Oct 2013+5.5months or mid April 2014 (14th of April 2014 begins Passover). The second overlapping era then ends approximately April 2016 and the last era in May 7 years later, in 2023. In this way we have the rise of Empire of the much praised and very human Cyrus, leading to all his sucessors being matched by the last era of human Empire and the last to seek Cyrus' power, before the true shepherd comes. Cyrus, from legend was raised a herdman among remote poor folk, or in other words he is from the basest of men. Whether is it true or not is immaterial, that it exists aligns Cyrus in typology with the basest of men, which is borne out by the aspects that are often praised of Cyrus respecting all his peoples' gods.

Some support for this idea is found in that from 27th Sepember to 29th October 2013 on the anniversary of Cyrus the Persian's conquest, Iran (the modern Persia) features strongly in relationship to Israel in events that will play out in the next 6 months. Already events are moving fast. So fast indeed that some are questioning the speed of them.

Iran, IAEA discuss framework for nuclear inspections

DUBAI, October 29, 2013
Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have held technical discussion for the second successive day on a framework for inspections that could allay western apprehensions about Tehran’s suspected pursuit of nuclear weapons.
A fresh round of nuclear talks had kick-started on Monday afternoon following a meeting between Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and IAEA head Yukiya Amano. Both sides were working on a framework document that would allow IAEA inspectors to access suspected sites inside Iran. ..
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Marzieh Afkham said on Tuesday that Tehran was pursuing a “new approach” in its engagement with the IAEA, which is expected to “answer [the IAEA’s] questions, remove the ambiguities, and lead to further cooperation”.
On September 27, Iran had declared its readiness to work out an agreement on nuclear inspections, following talks in Vienna.
Analysts point out that Iran is keen to achieve a breakthrough in its nuclear dialogue with the West so that a phased removal of current sanctions is achieved. Besides, with the suspicions of weapons programme out of the way, Tehran wants to launch an ambitious programme of atomic power generation along its Persian Gulf and Caspian Sea coastlines.
On October 23, Ali Akbar Salehi, former Foreign Minister and current head of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI), announced that Tehran plans to build new atomic power plants along the Persian Gulf coast. “What we have in mind is to build [nuclear] power plants on the Persian Gulf and Caspian Sea coasts, but we have prioritised the Persian Gulf shores as we are going to pave the way for the desalination of water for the southern provinces,” Press TV quoted Mr. Salehi as saying. Tehran Times also quoted Mr. Salehi as saying in three months, Iran will establish a production line for enriched uranium dioxide for use in Iran’s lone, Russian-built, Bushehr atomic power plant.
Iran took over Bushehr from the Russians on September 23. However, Russian engineers would provide backup support for two years, following which the facility would fall under independent Iranian control. Iran will source atomic fuel for the 1,000-MWe plant from Moscow till 2017. Spent fuel, which can be processed to yield fissile material for a bomb, will be returned to Russia, according to an agreement that the two countries have previously signed. thehindu.com/news

This next article mentions the haste of the actions,

Israeli news media was in a frenzy over a “tense” meeting Friday between Netanyahu and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry in Jerusalem. Kerry said publicly that people should not be “jumping to conclusions,”
Kerry also told Israel’s Channel 2 TV that Israel faced possible international isolation and violence with the Palestinians if his attempt to broker a peace deal for a Palestinian state failed.
An agitated Netanyahu lashed back that “no amount of pressure” would make Israel compromise on its basic security and national interests.
On Sunday it continued, with Netanyahu disclosing to his Cabinet he told Kerry in private that Israel would not wait to see what deal emerged with Iran and would continue to lobby European leaders to stop it unless it ended Iran’s program.
His stance had already prompted a personal call from Obama and a high-ranking delegation of U.S. officials led by Wendy Sherman, U.S. undersecretary for political affairs, was to arrive in Israel on Sunday to talk to Netanyahu on the negotiations...
Kerry shot back on Sunday that world powers had come close to a good deal with Iran in Geneva, telling NBC’s Meet The Press in a taped interview that, “We are not blind, and I don’t think we’re stupid.”
But Israel says it’s mystified by the foreign policy of the United States.
Netanyahu on Sunday said he was telling Western leaders that the proposed deal was dangerous for the world and the USA, not just Israel. He insisted to CBS’s Face the Nation that the purpose of the Geneva negotiations is to get Iran to bend to the will of the U.N. Security Council demand that it remove the technology and material used for making a possible bomb.
“I’m expressing not only the concerns of Israel but the concerns of many in the region,” he said. “I asked the leaders, what is the rush?”

The haste is to a 'deal' as Iran is seeking it,

Contentions: Iran Passes the Point of Nuclear No Return

Jonathan S. Tobin 10.29.2013
Good news comes from Vienna today. Or at least that’s what we’re supposed to think. The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency met with representatives of Iran sent by its new President Hassan Rouhani, and the result was a “very productive meeting” according to a joint statement issued by the two parties. In contrast to their usual contempt for the IAEA, the Iranians made “constructive” noises about resuming the nuclear inspections they have been thwarting for years even though no details about what their new proposals might be were revealed. Though a slender reed upon which to base a policy of faith in Iran’s good intentions, it will likely strengthen the resolve of the United States to push ahead with the latest round of the P5+1 talks that will resume next week...
But lost amid the enthusiasm for diplomacy was yet another troubling statement that ought to chill those hopes for a quick resolution of the nuclear dispute with Iran. Also speaking yesterday in Washington, Olli Heinonen, a former deputy director of the IAEA, said that Iran has, “in a certain way,” already reached the point of no return in its nuclear program.
Heinonen confirmed the report released last week by the Institute for Science and International Security that said Iran could enrich enough weapons-grade uranium for a single bomb in about a month. That finding renders moot most of what is being discussed by Western diplomats with the Iranians. If the Iranians have reduced the “breakout time” needed to convert their vast stockpile of low-enriched uranium into nuclear fuel, then even if Tehran agreed to proposals about limiting their enrichment capacity, their path to a weapon is clear. ...
Throughout the debate about the nuclear threat from Iran, we have been assured by the administration that any danger of the Islamist regime cheating on a deal in order to procure a weapon that they had theoretically renounced was slim because of the lengthy “breakout” period that would be needed before they could complete the construction of a weapon. ...But if the Iranians only need two weeks to do the trick, those calculations go right out the window.
Given the vast number of centrifuges already enriching uranium in their facilities, this calculus may mean that anything short of Iran’s destruction of their nuclear plants and the export of all of their stockpile would not stop them from building a bomb. But since the Iranians have already stated that their “red line” in the talks is protection of their “right” to enrich and a refusal to give up any of their uranium, it’s difficult to understand what Kerry is talking about when he speaks so enthusiastically about the talks and makes veiled references to Israeli fear-mongering about Iran.

It also means that Iran’s willingness to talk about talking further about letting the IAEA monitor some of its facilities tells us nothing about their behavior or their intentions...

Iran ‘Two Weeks’ From Nuclear Weapon Capability

10/29/13
Iran’s nuclear development program is rapidly approaching the capability to build an atomic weapon, a former official of the International Atomic Energy Association said on Monday.

And

The report's main finding - that advanced centrifuge technology has allowed Iran has cut the "breakout" timeline so short that it can manufacture weapons-grade uranium within a month if it chooses - has given ammunition to Israel and its insistence that international sanctions on Iran must remain place until all of Iran's centrifuges are dismantled

The effect on Saudi Arabia, to the South

An Op-Ed Columnist captures the moment,

Fury in the Kingdom By ROGER COHEN October 28, 2013
DUBAI — Here’s how the Saudis see it: President Obama has sold out the Syrian opposition, reinforced President Bashar al-Assad after having called for his departure, embarked on a dangerous duet with President Hassan Rouhani of Iran, played the wrong cards in Egypt, retreated from initial criticism of Israeli settlements that promised a more balanced American approach to Israel-Palestine, tilted toward the Shiites in the growing regional Sunni-Shiite confrontation, and generally undercut the interests of the kingdom.

To say Saudi Arabia is livid would be an understatement. Hence the Saudi decision to give up a seat on the Security Council that it had long coveted. It was not aimed at the United Nations. It was aimed above all at the United State

Kerry to Visit Saudi Arabia to Smooth Relations,

By RICK GLADSTONE Published: October 31, 2013
Secretary of State John Kerry will begin a nine-day trip to the Middle East, Europe and North Africa on Sunday by stopping in Saudi Arabia for talks with King Abdullah, a major ally who is angered over what he sees as Obama administration failures on Syria, Egypt, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and relations with Iran.

Despite initial positive statements by Saudi Arabia on the Iran nuclear deal reached Sunday in Geneva, a senior advisor to the Saudi royal family said that his country was deceived by its American ally in the agreements and will pursue an independent foreign policy in response.
The advisor, Nawaf Obaid, told a think tank meeting in London "we were lied to, things were hidden from us. The problem is not with the deal that was struck in Geneva but how it was done," reports The Telegraph.

Israeli reaction to 'historic agreement' with Iran

We can see how the events on the anniversary of Persian success, have the potential to lead to another outcome, one within the next 5 or so months, where Israel will move much more boldy,

“What was agreed last night in Geneva is not a historic agreement, it is a historic mistake,” Netanyahu said at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting. “Today the world has become a much more dangerous place, because the most dangerous regime in the world has taken a significant step toward attaining the most dangerous weapon in the world.”
For the first time, he said, the leading powers of the world agreed to uranium enrichment in Iran, while removing sanctions that it has taken years to build up in exchange for “cosmetic Iranian concessions that are possible to do away with in a matter of weeks.”

Netanyahu said the consequences of this deal threaten many countries including Israel. He reiterated what he has said in the past, that Israel is not obligated by the agreement.
“Iran is committed to Israel’s destruction, and Israel has the right and the obligation to defend itself by itself against any threat,” he said.

From this one might feel that Israel might gain some backbone. At the very least they are clearly isolated with no other great nation friend.

The briefing came as part of an ongoing appeal by the Obama administration to the Senate to hold off on a new round of sanctions against Iran.
Senator Mark Kirk (R-Il.), a member of the Banking Committee, described the briefing as “very unconvincing” and, in what seems more disturbing, he said it was also “anti-Israeli”.

The most intruguing commentary on the situation, is a Jewish blog, commenting on Israel's government,

"If you walk in a sinister manner with Me, then I shall walk in a sinister manner with you" (Leviticus 26: 23-24).
Hashem (=the Name -ed)tells us in the above passage, as He says in many other places in the Torah, that He runs the world - and especially Israel and the Jewish People - on a measure-for-measure basis.
The word in Hebrew for sinister is kerry - it also means rebellious or spiritually impure.
The prophecy in the above passage is amazing - let's now translate it with its alternative definitions:
"If you walk in a rebellious manner with Me, then I shall walk with Kerry toward you."
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Blogs/Message.aspx/5414#.UpKynCekOTw

The shepherds of Isarel in Ezekiel 36 are said to be judged, with difference put between the 'fat cattle' (fat leaders) from those 'sheep' they pushed about. The 'sheep' know that their leaders are rebellious.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper

Iran is making a weapon against the people of God, but it is in a slippery place as was shown after these events with a small earthquake.

A 5.7 magnitude earthquake took place on the Gulf coast near Iran's sole nuclear power plant at Bushehr. INN

God may destroy their nucler program at any time, yet has not chosen to do so. However, Israel and the faithful were told,

No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. (Isaiah 54:17)

Let us see what the next few months until Passover 2014 bring. The binding of the tree that Nebuchnezzar saw requires a new planting, this time on the mountains of Israel.

Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also take of the highest branch of the high cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the top of his young twigs a tender one, and will plant it upon an high mountain and eminent: In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell. (Eze 17:22-23)

There is a change, the more the world leaders push for giving land away the more those who understand know it is theirs, and must be claimed by Jews. For November 20 an influential blogger 'Israpundit' wrote,

Ted Belman: I am retired and am devoting my full time energies to this blog and my activism. I am against the creation of a Palestinian state and for the annexation of Judea and Samaria.

From a private communication from someone living on the mountains of Israel,

Every time they want to get rid of us we just get stronger and larger. This is truly living what G-d has instructed us. We will all pray and continue growing.

From a newspaper Blog,

It's nigh past time to decide where Jews truly belong. There's the paternal face of Kerry and his crew in the Diaspora trying to uproot our people from Israeli soil, and then there's the patient land itself waiting to be reunited between the Children of Israel and the Land of Israel. Make your choice wiselyhttp://www.israelnationalnews.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/26#.UpxpHyekOTx

And from the Israeli government,

Knesset Committee to Discuss Implementation of Levy Report
2012 report found Israeli presence in Judea and Samaria to be legal according to international law, called for continued settlement.
MK David Rotem, Chairman of the Knesset's Constitution, Law and Justice Committee, announced Tuesday that the Committee would convene next week to discuss retired Supreme Court Justice Edmond Levy's report. Released in 2012, the report found that Israel's presence in Judea and Samaria is legal according to international law. INN

That the nations are now seeking with all their energy “to part the land” ( and that Jews are seeking their Creator in this matter, indicates it may be soon there is some action on the matter. Passover is a historic time of deliverance, and this Passover in 2014 comes with an eclipse (see here.

It is written of our days that,

"For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, (that was in 1967-73)
I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. (Joel 3:2)

Signs of the End Times

The Bible suggests in prophecy that the most outrageous things would occur in world poltics: alliances would end abruptly and the world would plunge into an unstable time. We are today in the day of political upheaval, not seen in a generation.

Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it? Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. (Amos 3:6-7)

We hear 'Trump', and we associate it with 'Trumpet', which is the likely origin of the surname which was given to a Trumpeter or Drummer in the Army. The trumpet in the Bible speaks also of a call to war as Amos points out. Amos also says that when the trumpet of war is blown, Yahweh has done it. We are told that what is done is revealed to his servants.
