Shimon Peres: The writing on the wall

1st October 2016, hej

Shimon Peres has been a man of sign in his life and now in his death and burial.

In Judaism “the Hebrew name of every object is the conduit for its divine energy” and “It is said that parents receive a glimmer of divine inspiration when they give their child a Jewish name.” chabad

Shimon means hearing. Y'shua said unto them, “Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.” (Mark 4:24)

Shimon Peres' family must have chosen the name Peres (he was born Perski in Poland). We see in the Bible how name changes are always significant, such as Abram and Sarai. Did they know 'Peres' was in the Bible and means in Chaldee "divide, split-up"?

Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written. This is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians. (Dan 5:24-28)

The Peres family arrived in Israel in 1934. When he arrived it was to a desolate land mostly empty of people with a few new kibbutz, and some growth in the older towns. In 1934 Peres arrived at the tail end of the first great waves of immigration which had begun in the 1880's. When he arrived it was 12 years after the 1922 legal adoption of the British Mandate for Palestine which gave Jews a National home in the Holy Land. Peres was born in 1923 the year after this event. He came of age politically and was noticed by Ben Gurion in 1946, becoming part of the Haganah Defence Forces in 1947. This means his name emerged in politics just as Israel was being divided again – “Partitioned” - in 1947.

Peres though a young man, then, later in life connected to the event. In 2007, on the 60th anniversary Peres, as president, presided over a re-enactment of the UN vote in the Knesset. The even invited the UN. This despite the fact that it was, and is, well known that the UN vote in 1947 was of NO SIGNIFICANCE (except to express the nations' intent to divide God's Land)!

“Though the Jews had hoped to establish a viable state on all or most of the area that is today Israel, the partition plan granted them only two non-contiguous slivers of land, connected one to another by two single border crossings. Jerusalem was to be internationalized, and the Israeli territory was more than 75% desert land. It also included area north, west and south of the Sea of Galilee, a swathe of land a few miles wide from Haifa to Ashdod, and the Lachish region.

In the end, however, the UN's partition plan never came about. Six months later, when the British Mandate ended, Israel declared its independence, and was immediately attacked by five Arab countries. The war for Israel's independence ended in 1949 with borders that were much improved over what the partition plan had granted - including western Jerusalem. INN

Ynet news added “None of the speakers will bring up the oft-quoted derogatory label "Um Shmum" (in English: The UN – it means nothing) coined by Israel's first prime minister, David Ben Gurion. “ynet

Whereas in 1947 Peres was young and the 'partition' occurred due to the 1948 war he fought in, he later was responsible for the effective partition to make the PA on the Mountains of Israel, called the “Oslo Accords”

Oslo I, signed in Washington in 1993 and Oslo II was signed Taba in 1995 aimed at achieving a peace-treaty based on the United Nations Security Council Resolution 242 and 338 based on recognition by Israel of the PLO. They created the Palestinian Authority, whose function was the limited self-governance over parts of the West Bank and Gaza. Wikipedia
“Peres was perhaps more closely associated with the Oslo Accords than any other Israeli politician (Rabin included) with the possible exception of his own protégé, Yossi Beilin.” Wikipedia.

To achieve this they divided or partitioned the mountains into Areas A, B, and C.

Peres went further. He was also partly responsible for dividing off Gaza from 2003 to 12 September 2005 when the last distressed Jews were hauled from their homes in Gaza.

Peres supported Sharon's decision to pull Israel's troops and settlers out of the Gaza Strip unilaterally, calling it a victory for his philosophy that the land must be partitioned between two peoples, with or without negotiations. “I didn't join Sharon,” he said. “Sharon joined me.” The move did not bring calm. Hamas militants took over Gaza and used it as a base to fire rockets into Israel, discrediting Kadima's aim of unilateral withdrawal from much of the West Bank as well.
But that did not discourage Peres, who backed a new round of peace talks with the late Arafat's heirs in the West Bank-based Palestinian leadership.
“Shimon really believes in the chance to make peace,” Sharon said before suffering a stroke and falling into a coma in 2006. latimes

Sharon was in a coma from a massive stroke from January 2006 until the 11 January 2014. They used to prop him up to watch TV, though they never really knew if he understood anything. In July 2014 Peres left the Presidency of Israel.

There is more. Peres is buried on exact day he signed the Oslo Accords, which brought in a wave of terror... exactly 23 years later.

The architect of Oslo has been called to give account in the Heavens today during the period when all Jews are judged for their past actions (my ed note this month!). Two weeks ago, on September 13th 2016 (Elul 10), Shimon Peres suffered a fatal stroke culminating in his death two weeks later. Peres will be buried on Friday in the presence of many foreign leaders including Bill Clinton, who together with him and Yitzchak Rabin initiated the Oslo peace process with the signing of the peace agreement on September 13th 1993, exactly 23 years ago. The Hebrew date on Friday is 27 Elul. A check reveals that in 1993, 27 Elul was the very day, September 13, when the Oslo accords were signed. This cannot be a coincidence.
The accords were signed in 1993 and after huge public protests arose in Israel, the Knesset ratified the accords by a single vote - that of Alex Goldfarb who was presented with a Mitsubishi in honor of his crossing party lines to approve the accords. Peres and Rabin ignored the opposition and even mocked them at times. Huge protests arose in Israel at the anomaly of Israel providing weaponry to people still openly hostile to large segments of Israeli society. Notwithstanding the fact that policemen are responsible for maintaining the peace and not for fighting wars, the policemen were outfitted with rifles. In the ensuing years, these weapons would be turned on Israelis, who unwittingly would pay for their own deaths.
In the spring of 1996, ironically while Peres himself was prime minister after Rabin's assassination a new spate of suicide bombings drove public opinion against Oslo and its chief architect Peres and despite the shock of Rabin's murder half a year previously, Peres was driven from power. INN

Date converts Monday, 13 September 1993 to the Jewish date of 27th of Elul, 5753. The day Peres had the fatal stroke was in the Western calendar exactly 23 years from the day when he signed the accords, but he was buried exactly 23 years on the Jewish date he signed the accords. This is an impossible conjunction. There is an expressed opinion that his legacy must be buried,

But to survive in the real new Middle East, Israel must bury Peres’s belief that peace is built by appeasing enemies along with him. jpost

Whereas Peres name means 'division', 23 is a number which is indivisible! In addition Bill Clinton was there at the funeral on that anniversary day watching Peres being buried. To underline the death of Oslo, they buried him beside Yitzhak Rabin, who had also been involved but who had been assassinated for what he did in 1996.

The Holy Land has been divided, despite a mandate treaty making it illegal to divide it! A man in the public eye, a disciple of Ben Gurion. A man of significance. A man named "Hearing" I "divide, split-up" and so it was and so he did. In a past article Palestine we explore the role of Arabs and how there would be people against Isarel in the area of Edom and the plain of the phistlines (Gaza)

There may be some confirmation that Shimon Peres was man of sign because of his name and role in the miracle of Israel, a miracle he witnessed to confessing the power of the God of Israel. We read on the date of the death,"Son of man behold I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shall thou mourn or weep." Ezekiel 24:16. 'with a stroke' ... ! More than a former president he was a public figure, one 'desired' by many, praised as a 'warrior of peace' CNN and a 'founding father' (Peres in French translates as 'Fathers'), 'a man of the people' Slate. We may have been reminded, 'yet neither shall you mourn'.

In 2009 on Biblefocus I wrote in names the Spirit of an Era,

Peres then is also a name that defines the era. Peres in Spanish means 'son of the rock'. But Peres in Hebrew (and Chaldean related to the Iranian language, Persian) means 'divide', 'spilt up'.

The era marker name of Israel is a 'rock' on which the world is 'split up'. This is not Peres personally but the country of Israel that he represents. From the book of Daniel the last days are described as a stone that divides and breaks.

You saw till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. (Daniel 2:34)
And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. (Zechariah 12:3)

The era of Israel as 'the stone' began when Shimon Peres took office on 15 July 2007. This was 40 years since 67. Wikipedia says that "In 2000, the president's term was increased to seven years" ..."president cannot be re-elected to a second term". Therefore the end of the era of Israel as a stone that divides is in 2014.”

I was clearly optimistic, but there is significance in the end of the era in 2014 as Sharon died then. From 2014 to now we have seen intermittent bloodshed, not just in Israel but globally, and in Israel a strong hardening of what is now becoming a majority resolve to turn their back on negotiating with terrorists. More than that In the US and on the mountains of Israel there are voices saying the '2 state solution', the partition, the division, is to be buried.

The Jerusalem Controversy

When President Donald Trump stated that Jerusalem was Israel’s capital and that the USA would establish its Embassy in Jerusalem, there was an immediate outcry from the Arab nations. Nikki Haley, rebuked the UN for their consistent condemnation of Israel in the UN. Israel is surrounded by enemies and the Arab nations have started four wars since 1947 to destroy Israel and to drive the Jews into the sea.

70 years: Israel, Jerusalem, US & UN

When Trump announced US policy, the White House in line with Congress, was to now recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, he ended an epoch.
