Trump, Israel & the end of Tisha B'Av

19th September 2016, hej

We can be sure that the Creator of all things controls who takes power. Thus the current US election, though people strive and think they are free to elect who they will, the result is God's. There is one curious point to ponder: this contest more than any previously has powerful undercurrents of a struggle involving Zion.

The Jews found about Trump, who had worked with him for decades of years from obscurity, and who are valued by him, are active with strong connections to Israel, and their faith. These are even now asking in faith, as Mordecai did, is it for such a time as this?

Yet the American presidency’s significance for Israel is so great, he said, that he has been told his role could be as important as Esther—the Jewish queen of Persia. jns.org

There is a Hebrew phrase in a picture centre top above Trump's desk. Baruch C. Cohen explains it...

On March 1, 1983, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, in New York City, long before he was seeking the Presidency, my father and Charlotte Jacobson were privileged to present the JNF's most covetous award, the "Tree of Life Award" to Donald Trump in appreciation of his outstanding dedication to the cause of American-Israeli friendship and for his support of Israel. Here is the plaque that hangs prominently in Mr. Trump's office. I was at the banquet honoring Mr. Trump, and I recall his impassioned words about Israel. attorneysdefendingisrael.blogspot.com.au

It is possible Trump doesn't know the full significance, however he does hold onto it.

Etz Hayim, also transliterated as Eitz Chaim (Hebrew meaning "Tree of Life"), is a common term used in Judaism. Theexpression can be found in Genesis 2:9, referring to the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden. It is also found in the Book of Proverbs, where it is figuratively applied to "the Torah" Proverbs 3:18, "the fruit of a righteous man" Proverbs 11:30, "a desire fulfilled" Proverbs 13:12, and "healing tongue" Proverbs 15:4. wikipedia

The meaning of the of the tree given is shown by the centre having the 10 commandments, but the Jewish National Fund gives 'it for the fruit of a righteous man', which is more prosaically, “outstanding community involvement, their dedication to the cause of American-Israeli friendship, and their devotion to peace and the security of human life.” Now as you would expect American Jews receive this award from the JNF, but there are some exceptions now clustered about Donald Trump: Ben Carson and Chris Christie. Wikipedia

By 1983 when the tree of life was given there must already have been a long history of Trump support for Israel. It was on the wall in 1989, and was still there in 2015, though other pictures had changed. Beside Donald Trump's Tree of Life on the wall is a key.

Is there something significant in the timing at Tisha B'Av of the unprecedented move by the Trump led Republican team into Israel?

A Hebrew Twitter account was launched by presidential nominee Donald Trump on August 15, 2016. (JTA) On that same day the Trump led Republican Party launched its first ever election campaign in Israel.

Monday 15th August JERUSALEM (AP) — The Republican Party launched its first ever election campaign in Israel on Monday, trying to convince skeptical American-Israeli dual citizens to cast their votes for Donald Trump. times of Isarel

More than that his name is transliterated into Hebrew! As his name is not translated, the letters don't look like a Hebrew word and it has no meaning. The first three letters chosen for Trump (טרא) in transliteration only occur once in the Bible (the whole not at all). They occur in the third poem in Lamentations.

Lam_3:12 דרךH1869 קשׁתוH7198 ויציבניH5324 כמטראH4307 לחץ׃H2671 He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark H4307 for the arrow. (Lam 3:12)

Now in an incredible co-incidence Tisha B'Av 2016 began in the evening of Saturday, August 13 and ended in the evening of Sunday, August 14 where the scroll of Eicha (Lamentations) is read in synagogue during the evening services.

Thus Jews had only just read that passage. Then the campaign launches into the end of Tisha B'Av.

Although the fast ends at nightfall, according to tradition, the First Temple continued burning throughout the night and for most of the following day, the tenth of Av. It is therefore customary to refrain from eating meat, drinking wine, bathing, cutting hair, doing laundry, listening to music, making a shehechiyanu blessing until midday of the following day. Wikipedia.

Chapter 3 of Lamentation speaks of hope for the people of God: the chastisement would only be for their good; a better day would dawn for them. Wikipedia

Further to the word 'me as a mark' It has another occurrence in Job in a matching context.

I was at ease, but he has broken me asunder: he has also taken me by my neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark. (Job 16:12)

Most Christians recognise the pattern of the suffering servant of Christ in Job, and it may also be seen in clearly Lamentations 3 with the reference to the 'wormwood and the gall'.

I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day. He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood. He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes. And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity. And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD: Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me. This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. (Lam 3:14-26)

Now we do see that Trump is a derision and indeed has been made a mark for the arrow, but he in no way fulfils this! Note we are to wait for the salvation teshû‛âh! (Y'shua). Thus we mark signs of the return of Y'shua, our salvation.

Then the lamentation seems more to speak of the national suffering,

Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people. All our enemies have opened their mouths against us. (Lam 3:45-46)
Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me. Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me; The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day. Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick. Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands. (Lam 3:60-64)

The word is not to 'mark' as we would think it, but to watch closely a target.

From H5201 'mat-taw-raw'; a jail (as a guard house); also an aim (as being closely watched): - mark, prison. H5201 'natar' is to bear a grudge (as to guard in the mind) or keep or reserve.

So what might we see to mark, watch closely, and to keep and to guard?

"trumpf" is German for "trump card," which is a noun that refers to the game of bridge, originally — and other card games, where a playing card of a particular suit ranks above other suits, which can win a trick. It also is used to mean a valuable resource that one can use, particularly as a surprise, in order to gain an advantage.
Another source has Trump as from Trumpf, which is derived from the German word, trumme, meaning drummer. forebears.io

But 'Trump' also has powerful resonances due to the long used translation of the Bible.

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (1Cor 15:52 KJV)
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (1Th 4:16 KJV)

Now the drum and the trumpet had a similar role.

(Drums) would be used by the company commander to convey orders, on and off the field of battle. The drummers would be more aptly described as signallers than musicians, as shouted orders were very hard to hear over the din of battle. Later, a bugle would become the preferred means of communication on the battlefield, and the drummers adapted, training on bugles and carrying them in battle, but retaining the drum and the title of drummer. wikipedia

The trumpet of the Bible was also used in battle.

A man's name speaks of his purpose.

Donald is an Anglicization of the Scottish Gaelic name, Domhanll, which means world-ruler . English derivative of the Hebrew name, Yohanan, which means Graced by Yahweh . forebears.io

Donald John Trump means the Ruler of the world by the grace of Yah a drummer / surprise to gain advantage / sounded loud. We must note that Yahweh Elohim is the only ruler of the world.

The odd case of Trump and the Tallit

More recently the world is puzzled by the Pastor in Detroit, Wayne T. Jackson, who gives Trump a Jewish tallit, prayer shawl, in a Saturday service. elderofziyon

Great Faith Ministries International, gave Trump the tallit, imported from Israel, along with a Jewish Heritage Study Bible. What does Jackson know? He said, “Because when things go down, you can study the word of God. When things seem like it’s almost impossible, you read Mark 9:23, ‘If one canst believe, all things are possible.’” breakingisraelnews

A tallit has fringes is to remember the commandments, and to guard against unbelief of the spies and “that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring” (Num 15:39). However the tallit means 'cover' and might be given by a teacher to a student. Wikipedia

….. If Jews are puzzled? What does an Israel-loving African-American Pastor giving a covering to Trump on the Sabbath mean?

In the context of Zion, we see a Trumpet as sounded warning of the soon coming of the former suffering servant glorified and bringing salvation.

All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifts up an ensign on the mountains; and when he blows a trumpet, hear ye. (Isaiah 18:3)

The ensign on the mountains was lifted up in 1967 when Jews took control of the mountains of Israel, Judea and Samaria. It has been there as a witness garnering news most weeks, and sometimes daily. But do you see? We are to take note when He, the Ruler of the world, blows a trumpet.

Hillary Rodham Clinton

Now let us also consider the context. Hillary Rodham Clinton. Hillary is derived from the Latin hilarius meaning "cheerful", from hilaris, "cheerful, merry" which comes from the Greek ἱλαρός (hilaros), "cheerful, merry", which in turn comes from ἵλαος (hilaos), "propitious, gracious". wikipedia

It occurs 2 times in Greek in the New Testament,

Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. (Romans 12:8 )
Every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver. (2Cor 9:7 )

In English hilarious means very funny. Rodham or rodden, is the dried raised bed of a watercourse or place or reeds for basket making Roddon, or as the Rodham has vanished from her name, Clinton is “a fenced village” or “settlement on the river Glyme” Not that was Bill Clinton's birth name – it's his step father's name. BehindtheName Glyme means 'bright stream' Broom

So we see cheerful of the fenced village or town of the bright stream. This seems to point to a confident secure person. Many use the word 'careless' of Hillary. Some time ago we reported the Bible shown to President Obama on 20 May 2013 where a Tornado left a Bible open at Isaiah 32 (see here Moore Tornado Bible).

But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand. Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech. Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come. (Isa 32:8-10 KJV)

Hillary retired as Secretary of state on Feb 14, 2013. U.S. BUT the House Oversight Committee hearing was on May 8, 2013. which reviewed how President Barack Obama’s administration, including then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, handled the Sept. 11, 2012 bombing at the U.S. consulate in Benghzai, Libya. And now it is revealed that in mid 2013 she was still handling state department related emails, and Guccifer had hacked her correspondence with Sydney Blumental, which revealed she'd not used a secure server. These problems she has not been able to escape from, or from the persistent label or being “careless”.

A 'Base' leader raised up?

Trump vs Hillary And why it may matter

A. Both Trump and Hillary are in the Bible. Hillary is from a Greek word occurring 2 times in the NT. Trump is in the KJV 2 times in the NT, those 2 are very powerful.

- he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. (Romans 12:8 ) God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Cor 9:7 )

- At the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised .. (1Cor 15:52 KJV)

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (1Thess. 4:16 KJV)

Are we cheerful? Let us be awake, is this soon? To hear the word 'Trump' should make us think!

B. The Jewish connection to both US election's contenders is strong.

- Hillary has Jews about her, one very dodgy one who is condemned as anti-Israel, Sydney Blumenthal. Her daughter Chelsea married a secular Jew. Her close adviser is of Saudi extraction.

- Trump has a few (before unknown) Jews about him, including two very hard-line Jewish Zionists who have strong links, not just to Israel, but to Judea and Samaria. Supportive of the settlements, Friedman rejects a two-state solution. One of them writes for Israel National News, so much does he love Israel. Trump has a Jewish daughter-in-law married to his son Eric. He also has a Jewish son-in law, and his daughter Ivanka converted to orthodox Judaism and practices it fully. This Jewish son-in-law is Trump's right hand, and is there in most meetings. This Jewish son in law bought a newspaper and sacked the Jewish anti-Israel editor.

C. Are we Awake to the battle over Zion in this US election and know who is for what?

- Hillary Clinton is the very first of any leader anywhere to speak of a Palestinian state. In 'American Evita' pg49, Christopher Anderson writes, “At a time when elements of the American Left embraced the Palestinian cause and condemned Israel, Hillary was telling friends that she was “sympathetic” to the terrorist organization and admired its flamboyant leader, Yasser Arafat. In 1998 she shocked Israel at a conference saying, “I think that it will be in the long-term interest of the Middle East for Palestine to be a state,” In 1999 she was photographed in a happy snap with Arafat. In 2000 she kissed Suha Arafat, the wife of Yasser Arafat, after she accused the Israeli government of poisoning Palestinian women and children. She then changed tune running as a senator… in New York! But as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton first demanded the “settlement” freeze in Judea and Samaria in 2009 and was quickly backed up by Obama. This when the PM of Israel, Netanyahu, who is a trained architect, moved to Israel to build affordable housing.

- Trump and his father have a long history of support for Israel. Fred Trump only charged an annual rent of $1 to the Beach Haven Jewish Centre. In 1983 the Jewish National Fund gave Trump the Tree of Life award (its second highest), not given for a few token words! You will see that award in photos of Trump's office. In 2000 UJA (United Jewish Appeal) Federation of New York's Hospitality Division presented Trump with the Hotel and Real Estate Visionary of the Century Award. In 2004 he became the first non-Jewish grand marshal of the Salute to Israel Parade in New York City. Trump also received the Algemeiner Liberty Award in February 2015 at the Algemeiner Journal's annual "Jewish 100" gala, which celebrates the "top 100 people positively influencing Jewish life."

Trump, a developer and builder, made an add for Netanyahu, who he knows well. Trump is saying build on the mountains. In May 2016 Trump said he believes the construction has to “keep going,” and “keep moving forward.” Trump rejected the idea of a settlement freeze, stating, “No, I don't think there should be a pause.”

D: The nominated vice presidents: jesuit vs evangelical

- Tim Kaine, not only backed the Iran deal, but actually boycotted Netanyahu’s speech to Congress last year. He says he supports Jews. But he is a Jesuit (sworn to the destruction of Bible-based Judaism and protestants by deceptive 'education'). He learnt Spanish building a Jesuit school in Honduras.

- Mike Pence 2002 "My support for Israel stems largely from my personal faith. In the Bible, God promises Abraham, “Those who bless you I will bless, and those who curse you I will curse.” So, in some way, I don’t fully understand [U.S. policy]. I believe our own national security is tied to our willingness to stand with the people of Israel.” Pence encouraged trade links with Israel when Governor and defeated boycotters in his state.

Are we informed by the media's opinions, or by what the contenders have done? Will God's tools, those he calls “base” (Dan. 4:17) be popular in the 'educated' media? Or do we see they are base, even liars.. for Hillary was raised up… but is her job done as we see her begin to fall by “mischance” or is there more for her to do? Is a despised developer, one of her own circle, to be raised up to defeat her opposition to Jews building (as written) on the mountains of Israel? Are we about to see extraordinary things?

To the glory of God

We do not know which way it will go, but we do know that whatever happens will be the Glory of the God of Israel and the confusion and destruction of those who hate him (Deut. 7:10).

We do know that Yahweh Elohim will at some point watch over Israel to build on the mountains of Israel in the days of a new covenant –

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness. And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all the cities thereof together, husbandmen, and they that go forth with flocks. For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul. Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me.
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast. And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD. In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge.. Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: (Jeremiah 31:23-31 )

When will this sowing be? Was it in 1967? Is it also until now? Will it be after the US makes it such a big deal that Jews don't build there? Ironically when the Israeli PM, Benjamin Netanyahu is a trained architect, the US and EU has restrained building. Is Netanyahu finally to see a dramatic growth building? By what miracle? There must be Jews living in villages, including on the mountains, with no walls, or bars and gates before Gog thinks his evil thought.

After many days you shalt be visited: in the latter years you shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. (Ezekiel 38:8)
And thou (Gog) shall say, “I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.” (Ezekiel 38:11-12)

So when is this to be? So what do we watch closely and mark? Have we been told to mark this man, to see what Yahweh the Ruler of the World is sounding out, trumpeting? Are we to be cheerful as we see the sign of those whose hearts fail for looking after those things coming on the earth?

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws nigh. (Luke 21:28 )
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer (courage); I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)

Is it significant that in the US the issue of Israel is not longer bi-partisan but they are divided so clearly on the issues of Zion, the mountains of Israel.

For the LORD has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the controversy of Zion. (Isaiah 34:8)

A postscript from Israel

There is an after comment of the strange incident of truth being revealed by one of Trump's observations. Tuvia Brodie writes

We’re reminded of how the 'Palestinian' narrative is a lie because of Donald Trump.
On November 22, 2015, he claimed that, in 2001, he saw on TV that Muslims in New Jersey were celebrating the catastrophic 9/11 attack against the World Trade Center Towers that killed close to 3,000 Americans.
Now the New York Times—perhaps the premier anti-Israel newspaper—creates an unintended consequence. It tries to explain why Trump would have said something (Muslims in America celebrating) that so many call outrageously false (Robert Mackey, “The Video of Celebrations That Was Broadcast on 9/11”, New York Times, November 24, 2015). The Times suggests that Trump was mistaken. The people he saw in 2001 celebrating weren’t Americans. They were ‘Palestinians’.
It’s truly wondrous that the Times—so aggressively anti-Israel—should reveal the truth about ‘Palestinians’: these people aren’t ‘innocent victims’ who seek only peace, security and independence. They are passionate haters of both the US and Israel. They hate the West. They’ll jump with joy when tragedy strikes America. They hand out celebratory sweets when Americans die. The Times also explained why film of an even larger ‘Palestinian’ celebration wasn’t available that day: ‘militants’ (in Israel, we call these people ‘terrorists’) threatened the Associated Press photographer who was working that day. They didn’t want any film to reveal what they were doing (ibid).
This is how HaShem, the G-d of Israel, makes certain that even the New York Times reveals the truth. tuviainil.blogspot

Thus Trump's words expose the truth, and thus he was moved already by the God of Israel.

The Jerusalem Controversy

When President Donald Trump stated that Jerusalem was Israel’s capital and that the USA would establish its Embassy in Jerusalem, there was an immediate outcry from the Arab nations. Nikki Haley, rebuked the UN for their consistent condemnation of Israel in the UN. Israel is surrounded by enemies and the Arab nations have started four wars since 1947 to destroy Israel and to drive the Jews into the sea.

70 years: Israel, Jerusalem, US & UN

When Trump announced US policy, the White House in line with Congress, was to now recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, he ended an epoch.
