The Abraham Accord – UAE Israel peace deal

16th August 2020, hej

Each year I read multiple Bible passages that indicate Arabs are first to serve the king of Jews, yet all my life I have seen American leaders seeking elusive 'peace' between Arabs and Jews: focussed on 'Palestinians' and trying to divide Israel to destroy it. Remarkably in recent history since 1948, not only had Jews been totally ejected from Arab lands, there were no two peoples more divided on the planet.

It is written regarding the greater son of David, the promised king of all the earth.

Men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed Psalm 72:17.

He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth. They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust. The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. (Psalm 72:8-10)

We see two peoples who are noted as leading servants of this righteous king: the multiple leaders of Tarshish and the multiple kings of Sheba.

Back in 2005 – when none could see that Arabs of Arabia would make an agreement with Israel, based on Bible Prophecy alone, I wrote of the amazing future of honour and peace together!

Prophecy also shows a remarkable change in these people. In Isaiah 21: 13-17 Kedar or Tema is commanded to bring water and food (see margin) to help the fleeing Israeli's at war, a role they will be yet be called upon to do when the Gogian host invade Israel. In Isaiah 42:11, which begins with a description of our Lord's work in judging the nations, those of Kedar are named as giving praise "let the cities thereof lift up their voice; the villages that Kedar shall inhabit".

Isaiah 60 is more detailed.

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee. The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD. (Isaiah 60:1-6)

Note here after the 'gentiles' or nations are mentioned, the first group honoured here who bring honour to Zion include Sheba

I then noted:

In Isaiah 60 it is not until verse 13 that "the glory of Lebanon comes" unto Zion, showing that Kedar, or the Arabians shall be first.

So we look forward to the time when it is not 'woe' for those who dwell in the tents of Kedar, but instead they echo Solomon who calls the tents of Kedar beautiful or "comely" (song 1:5).

Consider the Tents of Kedar

Jordan Peace Treaty 26 Oct. 1994

25 years ago Israel signed its first peace accord with an Arab nation, Jordan (as Egypt was taken over by Arabs, but is not an Arab nation). The treaty included also co-operation. mfa.gov.il

This was significant as it was written in Isaiah 21:13-17 that Kedar or Tema are commanded to bring water and food to help the fleeing Israeli's at war, a role they will be yet be called upon to do when the Gogian host of Ezekiel 38 invades Israel. Isaiah 16 says at the time just before the establishment of the throne of the Messiah the greater Son of David, that those of Moab, which is in modern Jordan, are asked to hide 'outcast' Jews.

For it shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest, so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon. Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth. Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land. And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness. (Isaiah 16:2-5)

After the peace with Jordan, for 25 years there was no advancement, rather terrorist bloodshed in Israel from the failed Oslo accords of 1993 and the giving up of Gaza 'for peace' in 2005 that led from 2007 to a state of constant war with Hamas.

We see a dramatic change: in one day

The lack of peace between the Arabs of Arabia and the Jews of Israel was remarkable. The Arabic vitriol against the Jews of Israel seemed deep seated and was manifested in absolute bans; there was not even a phone connection. The Arab block disputes with Israel prominently, publicly and regularity plagued every international forum, from the United Nations, to sport, to chess, to travel and to development.

Stunning Israel-UAE deal upends the ‘rules’ about peace-making in Middle East

Michael Oren

For more than 50 years, that paradigm has been based on seemingly unassailable assumptions. The first of these was that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was the core dispute in the Middle East.

..that the core of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was settlement-building in Judea/Samaria, East Jerusalem, and Gaza... This, theory, too, collapsed in the face of facts…

.. the Israel-UAE agreement and overturns each of these assumptions. It shows that resolving the Israel-Palestinian conflict is nowhere near as important as countering the Iranian threat and stimulating Middle East development. timesofisrael.com

There is a pattern in the Bible for the work of God, that shows dramatic reversals. Just before the Exodus from Egypt, the Israelites were the most enslaved. It was to Glorify Yahweh Elohim. The nation of Israel was lost in a day, twice. It was re-born in a day, and survived by miracle against an overwhelming force. Who has seen such a thing? (Isaiah 66:8)

This peace treaty fits this pattern. It would not have been possible less than 3 years ago. It wasn't likely to the outside view, even yesterday.

The announcement by the White House on Thursday took the world by surprise. indianexpress.com

There was a pattern due to the favouring of Iran by Obama, that taught the Arabs that they may be eclipsed, followed by the miracle of Trump giving them a chance to regain regional leadership.

The UAE started to cooperate with Israel against the rising aggression of Iran and its proxies, which has been undermining regional stability and threatening minorities all over the Middle East. In recent years, the UAE has also demonstrated its more inclusive attitude by declaring 2019 as the Year of Tolerance, during which it began the construction of a complex that comprises a Mosque, Church, and Synagogue side by side.

Unlike previous agreements that resulted in cold relations between the governments and animosity between the people, the Abraham Accords likely have a true potential of a warm and sustainable peace. Netanyahu’s innovative approach of “peace through strength” was denounced by many traditionalist intellectuals. Yet, he showed them all wrong. For the first time since its independence, Israel is about to sign a peace deal merely for the sake of peace. Therefore, the Abraham Accords fulfill their namesake—signed by peace-seeking countries, in hope of achieving true peace, a prosperous future, and an unparalleled brotherhood between the children of Abraham. nationalinterest.org

The Abraham Accords

What is most remarkable is that all have agreed that the peace accords are not titled by a place such as Oslo or Camp David- but are named for the ancient unity of two peoples, from one man.

It is said also to be the first of other accords, a trial peace, watched by all of Arabia to gauge benefit. Let us be bold- let us predict based on what is written will happen, that it will be so beneficial that Arabs are enriched so as to be able to be the first to bring precious gifts to the king of the Jews. It was Abraham who pleaded for a blessing for his son Ishmael.

As for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, (Gen 17:20-21)

In the modern world the princes of Arabia are again leading great nations, though not the largest in nations by population.

The mountains of Israel – not divided

The greatest most prominent feature of the accords is that Israel holds off on dividing their Holy Land, Judea and Samaria: the Mountains of Israel. Israel was planning to apply sovereignty to only a portion- a division. This has been delayed. It will not reduce the safety of Jews living on the mountains of Israel – or reduce or hinder Jews building there - as it is written:

After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. (Ezekiel 38:8)
AndAnd I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first. (Jeremiah 33:7)
Then the nations that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it. (Ezekiel 36:36)

Syria and Lebanon that chose war only, are left as remnant nations already.

The Merchants of Tarshish & Sheba

The Queen of Sheba comes to Solomon in the same way as in the future ruler of Sheba comes to the greater king of Israel. But read the ancient account and notice something odd.

She gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices great abundance, and precious stones: neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave king Solomon. And the servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, which brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious stones. (2 Chron. 9:9-10 cp 1 Kings 10:10)

What has the Queen of Sheba to do with Hiram king of Tyre? We are told!

For the king's ships went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram: every three years once came the ships of Tarshish bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks. (2 Chron. 9:21 cp 1 Kings 10:11)

How did the queen of Sheba hear of Solomon? From the ships that traded to Tarshish, which is India (due to having gold, silver, ivory, apes and peacocks).

Two nations claim the Queen of Sheba – Yemen and Ethiopia. Both are correct. It is agreed that long ago both sides of the narrow neck joining the Red Sea to the gulf of Aden were ruled by the Sabeans, because ancient waterways were trade routes. It follows that for Tyre to trade through that narrow straight would require a three way alliance between the Tyre based traders to Tarshish, Israel and the Sabeans. It is thought however that the ancient spice trade is though Najran

According to the Islamic tradition as represented by al-Hamdani, the queen of Sheba was the daughter of Ilsharah Yahdib, the Himyarite king of Najran. Wikipedia.

Najran is in modern Saudi Arabia at the border with Yemen. From this we would expect Saudi Arabia and or Yemen to follow the UAE.

We would expect modern merchants in India to have a strong relationship. What do we find?

From 2008-9 India emerged a the largest trade parter with the UAE. Wikipedia.

The Economic Times already headlines “UAE- Israel peace deal-Opportunity for India to acquire a greater role in this strategic back yard.”

However there were two places called Tarshish, including one accessed from Joppa at the furthest distance from Israel that could be imagined in the ancient world. (it is not uncommon to have more than one place of the same name. Consider the number of places called London). Those merchants of Tyre, would have truly valued the Suez canal.

Let us listen to the modern merchants.

The Abraham Accords breathe new life into hopes for a change for the better in the region. Some will say both sides are making a virtue out of necessity, since the domestic Israeli political situation continues to be unsettled, and will be so for many months. The United Arab Emirates gets to demonstrate to Washington—to both US political parties—its value and importance as a strategic actor in the region. Today is a day worth celebrating.”

Since 2017 the US had had a military presence in the UAE at the Al Dhafra Air Base. Whereas at the Al Minhad Air Base in the UAE.

Several foreign countries allied to the United Arab Emirates are believed to have made use of Al Minhad Air Base since the early 2000s to support the logistics supply chain for their army operations in Afghanistan. Wikipedia

Who? The British, Canadians, Australians and New Zealanders.

The UAE-UK relations have been described as a "special relationship" Wikipedia

When Britain was lost in Europe, America took the lead of the English speaking merchant nations whose heritage was from the trade of ancient Tyre that moved, over time, to Venice, then to Lisbon and to London. In this case Britain, who had a 'special relationship' with the UAE, clearly was not instrumental in events, with leaders not proactive but merely re-acting: Dominic Raab released this statement,

This is an historic step which sees the normalisation of relations between two great friends of the UK. We welcome both the decision by the UAE to normalise relations with Israel, as well as the suspension of plans for annexation – a move the UK has opposed as it would have been counterproductive to securing peace in the region. wired-gov.net

What's next? Iran

There is no doubt in anyone's mind that Iran, of all nations, would be the most annoyed and harmed by the accord. While the UK may be relived that two of its 'friends' are now at peace with each other, there is no doubt that the accord is due to common enmity against Iran, not common friendship with the UK. It may be argued that Britain was so sided with Arabs that with 'friends' like Britain, Israel didn't need enemies. The UAE peace deal now allows the UK to pivot openly towards Israel - for trade and commercial gain.

Just as we see the split for Britain from Europe and the binding of Britain to Israel through historic connection to the UAE, we will see Franco- German EU pivot more towards Germany's friend Arian Iran.

We are fully now in the days Ezekiel wrote of in the “latter years”

Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army... Persia (Iran), Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee. (Ezekiel 38:3-6)

Where shall they invade?

In the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. (Ezekiel 38:8)
Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought: And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land. (Ezekiel 38:10-12)

Do we see that safety now? Do Jews dwell safely in Judea and Samaria without bars and gates? No! Not yet. But never before has there been an American administration actually desiring this. There now is. Never before have Arabs desired this. They do now.

And who shall stand first against the invaders of the mountains of Israel? the Arabs.

Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil? (Ezekiel 38:13)

Who could imagine enemies of Israel would be first to protest others invading Israel? It was written. To understand prophecy, we often cannot understand what will happen by what we see from the past. For example I knew from Daniel's image that Europe would unite with Russia, though there was an 'Iron curtain' a generation old! For all my life I knew what was written would come to pass, but I didn't see it. I saw instead its opposite. Yet the wise observed that the Arabs were allied with the merchants who needed oil for their ships.

After 70 years of enmity the UAE puts it aside in one day. Now we can see clearly how there may be safety for Jews on the Mountains of Israel as Arabs there are put in fear by the power of the Arabs of Arabia. The Arabs of Jordan who had little power against the PA are given an ally, so strong as to put the PA in fear.

Who could have imagined it three years ago?

Arabs will be famous not for 'black gold' - but real Gold

Gold was first mined in Arabia approximately 3000 BC. A second period of activity was during the Islamic Abbasid period between 750 and 1258 AD...The Saudi government established the Saudi Arabian Mining Company in 1997 as a joint stock company with a capital of SR4 billion to operate five mines across the country. The company has expanded its business operations to include the development of phosphate, aluminum and other precious minerals. english.alarabiya.net

The Jewish king in Jerusalem that is honoured by the kings of Sheba is given gold… Saudi gold. We will yet see even more amazing things. The UAE built a Synagogue, Church and Mosque yet all will be stripped of the lies and theology to the simple faith of Abraham under the rule of his promised son, from Isaac.

He shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised. (Psalm 72:15)
