1) The evidence for trusting the Bible
For those who may doubt, I share why I don't doubt. More than not doubting, I share why I have trust and confidence. Believe now means "accept that (something) is true, especially without proof." This is not the Belief required by the God of the Bible, no, that Belief required is a deep conviction based on irrefutable objective evidence: testable truth.
We use the same standards as used to convict a criminal, or establish beyond doubt a historical fact.
Firstly I would like to introduce the God of the Bible,
Let him that glories glory in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. (Jeremiah 9:24)
This great Power of the universe that loves justice, also loves giving us evidence, and he gave us a mind to think,
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.(Hebrews 11:1)
O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end! (Deut 32:29)
That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it. Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob. Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come. (Isaiah 41:20-22)
Let us also destroy a myth: it is not modern or progressive to doubt the existence of God or be an athiest - no, circa 1000BC (the latest compilaton 300BC , Gordon edu) it was written,
A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that does good. (Psalm 53:1)
1. Israel in the news
The most powerful evidence for the God of the Bible's existence, is Israel in the news. In the last 200 years, thousands of years of historical evidence for the Bible being a truthful record of history has been emerging from the sands, but no evidence tops the amount of newspaper print devoted to Israel and their dramatic emergence as a world leader in everything from agriculture to hi-tech in a formerly desolate land. (Ok prove me wrong on this one, give Israel as much newspaper media print as Estonia, Iceland, Denmark, Lebanon or Jordan!)
Can the statement that Israel dominates the news be objectively verified? Yes, in numbers!
Staffing is the best measure of the importance of a story to a particular news organization. When I was a correspondent at the AP (ed. from 2006-11), the agency had more than 40 staffers covering Israel and the Palestinian territories. That was significantly more news staff than the AP had in China, Russia, or India, or in all of the 50 countries of sub-Saharan Africa combined. It was higher than the total number of news-gathering employees in all the countries where the uprisings of the 'Arab Spring' eventually erupted... Before the outbreak of the civil war in Syria, the permanent AP presence in that country consisted of a single regime-approved stringer. The AP?s editors believed, that is, that Syria?s importance was less than one-40th that of Israel... The volume of press coverage that results, even when little is going on, gives this conflict a prominence compared to which its actual human toll is absurdly small. In all of 2013, for example, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict claimed 42 lives?that is, roughly the monthly homicide rate in the city of Chicago. Jerusalem, internationally renowned as a city of conflict, had slightly fewer violent deaths per capita last year than Portland, Ore., one of America?s safer cities. tabletmag
AP maps show the large dots in Israel (AP.org).
Numbers are an objective measure. The Foreign Press Association in Israel 2017 represents "480 journalists who are employed by international news organizations and report from Israel, the West Bank and Gaza Strip."FPA Israel
Compare this to 60 in Denmark, most of who live there (FPdk), and to 440 in all of Germany (VAP) and to the largest and first FPA based in London with about 1,700 per year.(FPAlondon) On this objective measure the importance of Isarel to international media is 28% of Britain.
What makes News Organisations think Israel is "the most important story on earth, or very close"? It's not chance. Reporters are 'witnesses' reporting what they see.
Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth. Ye (Israel see verse 1) are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. (Isaiah 43:9-11)
2. Breathe - now explain that!
Breathe in and out. This is the most mysterious phenomena on earth. Why does breathing stop and death occur? The Bible gets it right. Loss of blood, or the means of moving blood, which carries oxygen, causes death, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood” (Lev 17:11). What is the energy that sustains that complex process? The Bible has an answer for a question there is no answer for. The God of the Bible each day, hour to hour, minute to minute sustains all life by his spirit-energy-power.
“Thou hide thy face, they are troubled: thou take away their breath, they die, and return to their dust. Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.” (Psalm 104:29-30) also,
For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. (Acts 17:28)
3. Consciousness and Memory
The inexplicable location of consiousness and its interplay with memory: why humans are uniquely good at recognising themselves in a mirror and capable of complex abstract thought and sense the passing of time. Yet so fragile that damage of any sort can lead to strange behaviours.
Israel Rosenfield has observed a connection between consciousness and memory: "People came to presume that when they talked of their ?memories,? they meant experiences and learning that were carefully stored away in their brains and could be brought into consciousness, or made conscious. But this was to ignore the possibility that memories were in fact part of the very structure of consciousness: not only can there be no such thing as a memory without there being consciousness, but consciousness and memory are in a certain sense inseparable, and understanding one requires understanding the other.. Human memory may be unlike anything we have thus far imagined or successfully built a model for. And consciousness may be the reason why." and "consciousness has a temporal flow, a continuity over time, that cannot be accounted for by the neuroscientists? claim that specific parts of the brain are responding to the presence of particular stimuli at a given moment. Our perceptions are part of a ?stream of consciousness,? (1992 The Strange Familiar and Forgotten An Anatomy of Consciousness).
Consciousness cannot yet be explained, "THERE are a lot of hard problems in the world (ed. of science), but only one of them gets to call itself "the hard problem". And that is the problem of consciousness ? how a kilogram or so of nerve cells conjures up the seamless kaleidoscope of sensations, thoughts, memories and emotions that occupy every waking moment." and "Brain ?observatories? may solve the puzzle of how material brains create an intangible world of love, colour, taste and fantasy, says Christof Koch" newscientist
in 2017 Bernardo Kastrup was writing "Consciousness may never arise?be it in babies, toddlers, children or adults?because it may always be there to begin with. For all we know, what arises is merely a metacognitive configuration of preexisting consciousness. If so, consciousness may be fundamental in nature ? an inherent aspect of every mental process.." scientificamerican
The fundamental problem all theories of consciouness face is that the intangible can't come from the material. One of the best theories is 'integrated information' theory livescience. I will return to the idea of 'information below.
God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Genesis 1:26-27)
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: (Proverbs 23:7)
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philipians 4:8)
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:2)
4. Law of Biogenesis
It is a scientific Law of Nature the 'law of biogenesis', attributed to Louis Pasteur, that life must only come from life. Carbon, complex carbons, water and whatever substance remains simply just that life-less substance. This is observation, this is fact.
Louis Pasteur in 1864 told those hearing him at the Sobonne Univerity, Paris that the theory of spontanous generation of living cells would never recover due to his experiments. To this day all observation has confirmed the Law, and Pasteur has not been challenged.
So much is it fact that it is seriously suggested that life came to earth from space, in the Theory of Panspermia, held by Francis Crick co-discoverer of DNA, Fred Hoyle & Chandra Wickremesinghe Dr.V.J.M.de Silva.
No matter where the teeming varieties of life of earth came from, there had to be a form of life to give them life.
And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. (Genesis 1:20-21)
5. Species and DNA
It is observation that there are species, which, despite significant evolving variation still remain unpassable from one to the next. The more that is found, especially regarding DNA the more it is known how impassible the species barrier is.
There is a significant amount of variation in dogs and wolves, as there is in humans, some are tall some are short, some thin, some with a lot of hair others curly haired, some light some dark, some with blue eyes and most with types of brown. But nowhere does a dog- wolf have a chance to become a horse. Horses also come in great variety, but they cannot have become a giraffe, as the DNA 'programs' won't allow it. No form of ape can have ever have become a human, due to the differences.
And God made the beast of the earth after his kind (species) , and cattle after their kind (species), and every thing that creeps upon the earth after his kind (species): and God saw that it was good. (Genesis 1:25)
6. Mutation of the species
Objective science has found some mutations are useful, many are not. Most variation in species arises with lossof information. There is much evidence of adaption of species to their environment, with evidence of human lifestyle affecting their DNA, but it has never, even in rapidily, reproducing insects resulted in a new species. The more that is understood about DNA the more that it establishes that everything was created 'good' but there have been mutations, damage and copy errors. Whereas it was once genetically acceptable for cousins to marry now it is not wise due to the faults, mutation and copy errors. In the same way 'pure-breed' (in-bred) dogs have more genetic faults that lead to serious health problems than mongrels.
History not Empirical Science
The problem with theories about origins now being science is the fact that any possible evidence for it happened in the past - any theory about orgins should be in the history department, as it can't be tested now empirically or objectively.
Honest Evolutionists agreed with this as early as 1967 when it was admitted, "Our theory of Evolution has become as Popper described, one which cannot be refuted by any possible observations.. It is thus 'outside of empirical science'" (L.C. Birch, P R Ehrlich, Nature, 214, 1967 pp349-52).
I have completed a Masters thesis where I tested a hypothesis by asking a question which I then answered, in all using the empirical scientific method. I used modelling tools, I used loggers to measure things. I collected data. I made tentative conclusions based on the models (which didn't match the measured data), the measured data and the collected data. Now when it comes to origins, as it is so far back in history it relies on assumptions made about what is dug up. Nothing dug up comes with dates, unless humans wrote something that can be dated, and even that has to be fitted into a theories of how all human history fits together.
The only test of the hypothesis of the possibly of species changing within the scientific method is to observe and test very short lived things. Some studies of the DNA of short lived things have ocurred, where the short lived things remained genetically the same short lived things, or very, very short lived things dying before their expected life span, the empirical study of evolving species has found as yet only strong evidence for degeneration from either bacteria or fruit flies.
Michigan State University evolutionary biologists Richard Lenski and his colleagues searched for signs of evolution in bacteria for 20 years, tracking 40,000 generations. In the end, the species that they started with was hobbled by accumulated mutations, and the only changes that had occurred were degenerative.
Molly Burke led research into the genetic changes that occurred over the course of 600 fruit fly generations. The UCI lab had been breeding fruit flies since 1991, separating fast growers with short life spans from slow growers with longer life spans. The UCI scientists compared the DNA sequences affecting fruit fly growth and longevity between the two groups. After the equivalent of 12,000 years of human evolution, the fruit flies showed surprisingly few differences. icr.org
These findings can be tested, independently, again and again. They found they could not, by selection and direct intervention, make a change. This is science. This is truth. The finding of degeneration is a point I will return to.
7. Codes require a Sender and receiver
Humans use code to great effect. The letters making words I use here are a 'code', as they come from patterns stored in my mind and may be comprehended by any other mind that has learned the pattern of the 'agreed code' of the Englsh I use. Information Science as a field of academic study has opened up a whole new frontier of understanding that shows that the real world cannot be understood without a Creator.
Werner Gitt, after a liftime of working with Information Science and Control Engineering wrote, 'In the beginning was information' in which he argued that information is as fundmental as matter and energy. "Because information is required for all life processes, it can be stated that information is an essential characteristic of all life" (Preface English translation from German, Edition 2001 p9).
Gitt gives examples: the design and structure of the spider's web where information is required from the manufacture of the silk to the optimised design of the web itself, the design of the Morpho rhetenor butterfly wing structure made up of ridges that cancel out certain wavelengths of light and enhance others, so that the brilliant 'colour' of the wing is not intrinsic but from reflection, the human embryo that follows a precise and complex plan that by the 3rd week already has a tiny heart that is pumping blood, which gives the developing brain blood and in that blood oxygen, and lastly the organ playing robot that can 'sight read' music which requires a computer program without which nothing would happen. None can operate if the stored information is in any way 'deleted'.
It was proposed by a professor at Dortmund "Anyone who can identify the source of information, has the key for understanding the world" or "He who can give an account of the origin of infomation holds in his hands the key to interpret the world", to which Gitt observes that you have to go further as it is not enough to understand the source of information you have to see it though the lens of the source of information "one would not really be able to understand the world without acknowleding the Spirit of God. If the Bible really is the Book of Truth, as stated many times (eg thy word is truth John 17:17), then it is the key to understanding the world.
Gitt proposes, based on Norbert Weiner (1894-1964), that information is non-material and requires a sender who has a will. Gitt's Theorom 3. proposes that "Information comprises the non material foundation for all technological systems and for all works of art". He proposes also that it holds also for all biological systems. Theorem 28 is that "there is no known sequence of events which can cause information to orginate by itself in matter." Professor Gitt has proposed his information and engineering based theory in many forums in unversities, including a conference on information 1996 and as yet none has found an answer.
Gitt's calculations regarding DNA with 4 chemical 'letters' (A,T,C,G) in triplets show, 'the coding systems used for livng beings is optimal from an engineering standpoint.
By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.(Psalm 33:6)
He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat. He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly. He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes. (Psa 147:14-16)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God (Joh 1:1)
8. Codes in Trees and Flowers
Some trees that shed leaves all year but some shed leaves seasonally, and right on time each year shoot forth having seemed dead. How do they know?
The flower's function
BBC "The flower is so hard to define that even scientists are still discussing it."
"To be successful, a flower needs to produce pollen, as well as a reward such as nectar, and it must be attractive to the right animals. The diversity of size, shape, colour and smell across flowering plants reflects the many ways to attract an animal pollinator." "An entire flower can be produced from just three genes. "A" proteins alone produce a sepal cell, while A and "B" together make petal cells. "C" proteins control the carpels and the stamen: C alone produces carpel cells, while C and B together form stamen cells.
There is one flower that does not follow the classic ABC layout. It bewildered botanists for decades, but it turns out to be the exception that proves the rule... "
It has a Genetic mutation.. There are over 350,000 known species of flowering plant! All different, but (nearly) all formed by 3 genes! So who coded the flowers- and the variety of animals that are required to pollinate them, which if they aren't pollinated mean that other animals / birds don't live... and mean in many cases the plant itself is not reproduced.
The flower's beauty
lovely flowers he gives us- more than just for function! - for glorious beauty- because Yahweh Elohim the God of Israel loves beautiful smells and the glory of colour.
9. Sucess of objective observation in Science
There has been huge success of objective observation, or truth seeking, in science. More than that from truth seeking comes our motivation to search things out and ponder it. We are uniquly made having been made with consciousness of the world about us, so from a child we have questions about our world.
He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. (Ecc 3:11)
The Laws of Nature when understood by observation, and applied in design, have made technological development possible, beacause how a chemical will react, or how a bridge or aircraft may perform is understood by those Laws.
Much of the Bible is about objective truth
Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God: Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever: (Psalm 146:5-6)
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (Joh 4:24)
The Bible encourages active searching for all objective truth
Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding. (Pro 23:23)
The power of objective truth found in science is explained by Y'shua (Jesus)
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (Joh 8:32)
2) 10. Israel: Motion, Mechanics & Energy
10: Israel Balfour Declaration
The Balfour declaration is a miracle on a number of levels. Firstly it was by Providence that Chaim Weizmann was in Britain at all. To this day nobody really understands why. Once in Britain that a way was opened to him to be so connected to government. It seemed by chance that Weizmann met Balfour in 1906, but yet that meeting fell into a pattern that led to the Declaration.
Balfour had been out of the government from 1906 was raised by miracle to a position of power, and the small window and timing occured just as Commwealth forces won Beersheva from the Ottoman Turks- by miracle.
That miracle was itself overlaid on the stramge fact that Britain went to war against Turkey at all- having historically been allies! Yet a very charming German Ambassador Hans von Wangenheim lived long enough to take away the Ottoman heart from Britain.
The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.(Proverbs 21:1)
There is a postscript in that in 2017, one hundred years nearly to the day, some Turks chanted "Jerusalem is ours", when, if, they had not gone to war against Britain, they would have still possibly been in posession of it.. It is not chance, but part of a pattern, of the work of a Creator who loves patterns.
11. Infinity
The comprehesion of infinity (its use in caculations) and negative and irrational numbers, is an essential fact that allows humans to understand the God of the Bible.
Imagining ?infinity? in our minds is certainly no simple task, but it can?t be deemed as impossible since there are many different ways of thinking about it and envisioning it..As LiveScience reports, ancient Indian philosophers grasped it as something from which parts could be removed or added, but the entity would remain the same. The ancient Greeks thought of it as the endless set of prime numbers. thescienceexplorer
Hebrew has from the beginning the concept of infinity and it is related to our understanding of life and death itself.
And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. (Gen 2:16-17)
In Hebrew 'surely die' is muth ha-muth מות תמות This may also be translated dying unto death. Contrasted to the finite life is the infinite life,
The LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: (Gen 3:22)
The Hebrew 'Olam' is thought from 'alam' a word meaning 'conceal', and it best understood 'to the vanishing point' or point where things are concealed (practically) by distance. Thus we can observe someone walking away from us further and further until they vanish from vision. The point is that it may be experienced and understood.
John Locke observes that,
Every one that has any idea of any stated lengths of space, as a foot, finds that he can repeat that idea; and joining it to the former, make the idea of two feet; and by the addition of a third, three feet; and so on, without ever coming to an end of his additions.. johnLocke
It seems an innate thing that we can, with thought, consider infinity,
He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work. (Job 37:7)
12. Energy
One of the great pointers to the existince of the God of the Bible called 'He who will be' (Exodus 3:14) and Creator is the existence of purposfully directed energy. The Bible says
The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of (the) Mighty Ones (plural) moved upon the face of the waters.(Gen 1:2)
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24)
The orgin of Energy, which is everywhere moving things, is unknown. In addtion there is constant energy input, as the law of conservation and the evidence of conservation, indicates that the universe should have wound down to be cold dead even in the distribution of heat, yet clearly there are ordered energy areas of great heat such as the sun.
If we ask the question what powers the sun, we find it is atmoic reations, the next question is what allows the movement of the sub-atomic to exist. The energy for the mechanics is a mystery motivation. This need not be a mystery if we listen to the direct claims
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. (Mat 5:45)
Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars. Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea. (Job 9:7-8)
As the God of the Bible commands the sun's circuit, there would be no issue with his command of the atomic cicuits. This is my confident conclusion, which I lean on in my day to day life. He can turn water to wine, or blood.
13. Movement in the Universe :not a big bang
The movement observed in the universe today connot be explained, as it MUST obey the currently observed Laws of Nature.
Fred Hoyle explains, "The notion that galaxies form, to be followed by an active astronomical history, is an illusion. Nothing forms, the thing is as dead as a door nail.. the punch line is that even though outward speeds are maintained in a free explosion, internal motions are not. Internal motions die away adiabatically, and the expanding system becomes inert, which is why the big-bang cosmologies lead to a universe that is dead-and-done-with almost from its beginning." We can see the result of explosions in the same space, and it doesn't result in never-ending motions. There is no known observed physics that can explain either the current expanding motion, or the mechamsim of the huge concentation of energy theorised in a singularity, let alone why it might have occured, or where the energy came from.
14: Circular motion of the sun and planets
Thanks to Isaac Newton for pointing out this to me.
There is a huge force, an invisible line of resistence to pulling apart, stonger than the chord of any truss ever made could resist, between the sun and the earth and planets, and the earth and the moon, and any other circling masses in the universe.
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them (the line) hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. (Psalm 19:1-7)
The line of force through the earth to make a metaphorical 'tent' is a 'law', but it is a huge day- to-day, moment-to-moment, current active force! it convinced Isaac Newton the God of the Bible exists, It convinces me.
15: The presence of Mass
The presence of creative energy today out there, which is itself a peculiar thing, cannot explain the presence of mass.
Mass can be turned into energy, but nowhere is it observed that energy becomes mass. Even if there was a huge burst of energy, it should have just cooled, it would never condense into mass / mattter (let alone the variety of matter there is). Peter Higgs proposed in 1964 that there was a field mechanism that made the conversion of energy into mass possible. As yet it has not been found. And in any case why the mechanism is there at all also has to be explained, as well as why the energy was there.
Now faith is.. the evidence of things not seen. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.(Heb 11:1,3)
16. Atomic energy & structure
If the motion of the planets is impossible, that of atoms is also - impossible.
There are extraordinary forces at work that keep electrons circling the core of the atom, so that the majority of an atom is space. A space in which forces act.
The mechanics are well understood now, but nobody can answer how in the world such specific forces came into existence, or indeed why they continue to exist!
Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold where they fine it. Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten out of the stone. He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death. The flood breaketh out from the inhabitant; even the waters forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men. As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire. The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold. There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not seen: The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it. He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots. He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing. (Job 28:1-10)
17. Delicate balance of the laws of Nature
There is a fine tuning of the universe which is staggering. If something was changed by a small amount, life simply would not exist. The physical constraints, which now number a stagging 260, are so precisly calibrated that many scientists now argue they are evidence for intelligent design.
There are many examples.
A beryllium isotope having a half life of 0.0000000000000001 seconds must find and absorb a helium nucleaus in that time before decaying. It occurs because of an energy match between the two nuclei. If it didn't occur there would be no heavier elements, such as carbon, and the entire universe would be composed of lifeless hydorgen and helium.
The Stong Nuclear Force that binds together protons and neutrons in an atom, if it were only 2% weaker it would not allow atoms with multiple protons, and hydrogen woudl be the only atoms that existed. Whereeas if it was 1% stronger hydrogen and atoms heavier than iron would be rare.
Electromagnetic force maintains electrons in orbit about the nucleus. If it was stronger atoms would not share their electrons with other atoms, and there would not be any electricty, let alone molecules for life. If it was weaker it would not hold electons about the nucleaus, and again there would be no molcules for life: a precise balance.
Coulomb's law of electromagentism states that the Force (F) between 2 electric charges (Q1 and Q2) is equal to a Constant (C) tiems the product of the charges divided by the distance (r) between them squared. When the distance is squared it gives a precise number r2.0000000000000000. It cannot be changed even by the smallest amount from precisely 2 those if not it will be unstable. Electomagnetic forces hold all atoms together.
At the other end of the scale is the universe. The universe's stablity, ie that it doesn't implode or explode, is precise. The inequality limits that determine the stablity of stars is accurate to the 38th decimal place. Even a small difference in the last decimal place would ensure the sun didn't exist, or any star like the sun.
The forces of gravity and electromagnetism are so perfectly tuned as to allow stars to exist, including our sun. Astrophysicist Brandon Carter has studied the stellar battleground in detail, and he (shows) the delicacy in the balance between gravity and electromagnetism within a star. Calculations show that chnages in force by only one part in 1040 would spell catastrophe for stars like the sun. Paul Davies, Superforce, 1985 p. 242
If the earth was closer to the sun the heat radiation from Coronal Mass Ejections would make life impossible on earth.
18. Material Science
If we think of all the materials of modernity, that allow life as it is, all have unique properties.
Plain clay can be moulded and when fired at temperatures, easily obtained in primative furnaces, becomes very useful ceramic. Is this chance, or is it, as the Bible shows, to teach us about our relationship with our Creator?
But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. (Isaiah 64:8)
Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding? (Isaiah 29:16)
Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? (Romans 9:20-21)
Glass is actaully, in atomic structure, liquid sand, which at normal temperatures is so stiff as to appear solid, like cold honey. Over time the bottom a sheet of plate glass will become thicker as atoms migrate due to gravity. The atomic structure of the responds to heat in such a way that makes use of the substance possible. If this semi-solid state wasn't possible at temperatrues found on earth, if it could not be worked as a liquid at noraml blast furance temperatures, or indeed melt in a fire to allow it to be blowm to form bottles, then humans would be much constrainsed.
the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. (Revelations 21:21)
19. Laws of Thermodynamics
The First Law of Thermodynamics is about
conservation of energy, adapted for thermodynamic systems. The law of conservation of energy states that the total energy of an isolated system is constant; energy can be transformed from one form to another, but can be neither created nor destroyed. The first law is often formulated
Δ U = Q - W
It states that the change in the internal energy ?U of a closed system is equal to the amount of heat Q supplied to the system, minus the amount of work W done by the system on its surroundings. An equivalent statement is that perpetual motion machines of the first kind are impossible. Wikipedia
Therefore as we look at the amazing systems of the Universe where all thinsg are moving, the question has to be asked, where is the energy input comming from? WE have an answer in that the universe is not a closesd system a we are told in the Bible there is an input action
Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: (Psalm 102:25-26)
The God of the Bible actively changes the worn out, or inputs energy, to 'renew' as the Hebrew also implies.
The Second law of Thermodynamics, follows from the first, and is also based on repeatable observations,
the total entropy can only increase over time for an isolated system, meaning a system which neither energy nor matter can enter or leave. The total entropy can remain constant in ideal cases where the system is in a steady state (equilibrium) or undergoing a reversible process. The increase in entropy accounts for the irreversibility of natural processes, and the asymmetry between future and past. Wikipedia
We can look everywhere and objectivly observe, without exception, the state of the world and uinverse excatly as described by the God of the Bible.
Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.? Isa 51:5? My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.? Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished. Isaiah 51:4-5?
And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. (Hebrews 1:10-12)
3) 20: Holocaust, Persecution & Design Creation
20. Jews Israel: Holocaust & Persecution
The Bible explains just why evil prevails at times. Think how many of the Righteous Bible characters are murdered, have to run for their lives or who are persecuted! (Hebrews 11;33-7). It is so evident that it is called the pattern of the suffering servant. A rejection of the Bible means people cannot come to terms with evil in the world. They moan it ought not be - but the Bible says Cain killed Abel! The Bible shows the elite in Judea caused Jesus to be killed.
The Jewish people had written from the beginning a witness to what would happen,
the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone. And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind: And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life: In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see. (Deu 28:64-67)
For a Jewish understanding from the Jerusalem Post see God's promise to us
Warren Goldstein writes This week?s Torah portion, Bechukotai, boldly predicts the trajectory of Jewish history with its exile and dispersement: "And I will scatter you among the nations." (Leviticus 26:33) However, this week?s portion not only predicts our exile, but also our survival ? intact, as a nation, with all of our values. No one could have predicted this outcome. By all the laws of history, the Jewish nation should not exist. Our Torah portion shows the historic impact of the covenant, when it says: "But, despite all this, while they will be in the land of their enemies, I will not... reject them... nor annul my covenant with them... I will remember for them the covenant with the first ones, whom I took out of the land of Egypt." (Ibid. 26:44)
In writing this Warren shows how Israel's survival, through suffering and persecution to death, is evidence of the existence of the God of the Bible, who made a covenant as witness of his existence and keeps it for thousands of years as objective factual witness of his existence.
In that time of Jewish exile the true servants of Christ did not fare that much better in terms of suffering, than the Jews. It began in the times of Paul, who is known to have died at the hands of the Pagan Romans. Peter writes
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. (1Peter 4:12-14)
Very few christians ponder just why Tyndale and many others were burnt at the stake, or that it was written the servants of Christ should be suffering, mouring for the dead for 1260 years,
I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. (Revelation 11:3)
For more on this long age of persecution for followers of Christ see 7 years triibulation as 1260 years
The question people will ask is why? The answer will be found in a life in Christ as all who truly engage know by experince, but Job who knew by experience said it clearly,
But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. (Job 23:10)
Jews call the Holocaust the Shoah - burning. Pure gold can only come out from a burning of something, whether wood, coal or the 'renewable' energy of the burning sun.
In this list I deal with things that may be objectively observed. It is hard to give objective witness of personal experince, because it can only be explained from a subjective viewpoint. We can know this trial by personal experince, but it is easier to illustrate it in the observed facts of the documented lives of others. Some may not experience trial as others as shown by the letters to the 7 congregations in Revelation; they were not all equally afflicted though in a similiar geographic location and time. Laodica had a differnt challenge to Pergamos, assimilation in peace.
We consider Holocaust in depth here Shoah
21. The Good Design in Perfect Asymmetry in Nature
Chance could never arrive at a symmetry that is not quite perfect, which turns out to be Perfect.
Recent research has shown that to have 'Normal' vision and not be Dyslexic we have to have different eyes! About 10% have eyes with one part too similar to each other. I the writer am one of the 10% who show the imperfection of symmetry. The 90% of 'Normal' eyes who are not Dyslexic show the perfection of slight Asymmetry.
"People with dyslexia have difficulties learning to read, spell or write despite normal intelligence. Often letters appear to move around and get in the wrong order and dyslexic people can have problems distinguishing left from right. Human beings have a dominant eye in the same way that people have a dominant left or right hand. In the University of Rennes study, published in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B, scientists looked into the eyes of 30 non-dyslexics and 30 dyslexics. They discovered differences in the shape of spots deep in the eye where red, green and blue cones - responsible for colour - are located. In non-dyslexics, they found that the blue cone-free spot in one eye was round and in the other eye it was oblong or unevenly shaped, making the round one more dominant. But in dyslexic people, both eyes had the same round-shaped spot, which meant neither eye was dominant. This would result in the brain being confused by two slightly different images from the eyes. Researchers Guy Ropars and Albert le Floch said this lack of asymmetry "might be the biological and anatomical basis of reading and spelling disabilities". They added: "For dyslexic students, their two eyes are equivalent and their brain has to successively rely on the two slightly different versions of a given visual scene."" BBC
22. The Seasons
No other planet has seasons. It is so accepted that few think it remarkable, but it is! The earth is tilted on its rotational axis at an optimal 23.5 degrees in relation to the plane of orbit about the sun, allowing sun to both poles, and preventing overheating of one part of the surface. Like everything, this laos is always changing with this angle slightly varying, rocking over a 18.6 year cycle. But if asked how it this came to exist, none can answer. Universe Today in 2010 wrote it was part of the formation of planets in a time in cosmic history of "mystery". Go look try and find someone who can give an answer better than that!
But it is worse that that as not only is there no historical explanation, there is no explanation as to why that angle of tilt persists today with wobbling!
The Bible, by contrast, long before modern speculations, says God set the moon for seasons.
He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down. (Psa 104:19)
That the moon is related to seasons is now also modern understanding, though they may not wish to say the Bible was right or how long it has been understood!
The moon has long been recognized as a significant stabilizer of Earth's orbital axis. Without it, astronomers have predicted that Earth's tilt could vary as much as 85 degrees. Space.com
The description of creation from a view on earth,
Elohim (Mighty Ones) said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: (Genesis 1:14)
Lastly it was the Apostle's view that God maintains day-to-day, today and tomorrow the seasons, so we don't wobble off into ice ages. In addition they say this is evidence, a witness. Indeed it is evidence, because as we know full well today - the seasons are not 'natural'!
Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness. (Acts 14:17)
23. Water
Water is a miracle or in the words of those who have no God a mystery (Philip Ball, 'A Biography of Water 1999). It should not even exist. None can say where it came from. From a collision is the best excuse.. come again!? This doesn't explain how the parts came to exist before the collision, let alone how it decided to collect in one place, in it's remarkable chemical combination.
Water, unlike other liquids, expands and becomes lighter as it freezes not heavier, which allows fish to live in frozen ponds, ice bergs and spalling of rock faces. Water like other liquids does become denser as it gets colder but has a peculiar phase change at 4Deg.C or 40F when it becomes less dense. None can explain it simply unless it be 'wisely ordained of God that water be an exception' (Ball 1999, quoting Dr Brewer 'Guide to the Scientific knowledge of things familiar' 1876).
But Water is weirder still when compared to other liquids, in that it has such a high boiling point, which it allows it to stay on earth longer before becoming a gas, due to a 'sticky' structure in the liquid state where the unique properties of the Electrons and Oxygen in the bond with Hydrogen, which makes one H2O wish to bond with another H2O at each of the 4 corners of the terahedron structure to form a hexagonal structure. This design peciliarity affects not only the boiling point, but also water's unique abilty to dissolve things (corrosive or cleaning) and allow things to dissolove like asprin, or to be part of blood. The structure is so complex computers struggle to model it, which speaks of inteligent design.
How do I know that this intelligence belongs to the God of the Bible? The ancients surely could have no idea of how weird, eesential and unique water was, yet they began the account with water. No other religious text does this. In addition when they showed the Power of God to Pharoah they turned the river to blood. Only the maker of water would know the role of water in blood. Either the ancients knew it without tools of observation, or the Author of the Bible inspiring the writers knew it.
One of the greatest cycles of the earth is the water cycle. Solomon takes a pure observation of things under the sun writing,
All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again. (Ecc 1:7)
If it is not remarkable enough that there is water and land, the cycle of water is so essential to all life and regulation of conditions that it looks like a design, so much so that even scientists rejecting the God of the Bible call the planet a thinking organism.
The Bible outright claims that God calls waters from the sea,
Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name: (Amos 5:8)
Though the mechanisms of evaporation and the essential water cycle are understood, the cause of it cannot be found. The God of the Bible is not the 'God of gaps' but of the Causes of all things. There is much still to be found as to mechanisms of systems on earth, but the fundamental cause of all motion will never be 'found', because it is evident it is God's day to day work! The Bible is the only book that points to the active Cause of all major motions and energies of life, including the water cycle from the begining.
24. Clouds and Rain
25. The wind, high and low pressure
For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places. He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries. (Psa 135:5-7)
26. Lightning
The Science of Lightning is great evidence for the God of the Bible, see Why Lightning is a challenge
27. Stormy Wind Fulfilling His word
For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble. They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end. Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. (Psa 107:25-29)
Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word: (Psalm 148:8)
28. Honey Bee
For detail Honey bees & shells
He hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that flows with milk and honey. (Deu 26:9)
29. Patterns of the night sky
The most remarkable thing about the universe is that it is not even. If it came from a mindless explosion, bits would be evenly scattered, but they are not. The value to navigation is that the stars and planets form distinct patterns.
God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: (Gen 1:14)
When speaking with Job, the God of the Bible says outright that he binds the patterns of the stars. No other so called holy book or god claims this
Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? (Job 38:31-32)

37. Flight in the Bible
Someone whose 'faith' was inspired by an agnostic Einstein in his latter years, once asked me if the Bible predicted flight, as if it could not have, as who could predict that! When I went and looked I found the Bible had not only predicted flight but flight in specific key matters of the latter days era. The most astounding was it predicts the very first use of rapidly developing fighter planes in the First World War, that defended Jerusalem and ensured that Allenby achieved victory there against the Ottomans in 1918.
I go into detail Flight in the Bible
38. Internet and images
A specific prophecy that made no sense until very recently, is evidence for the reliablity of Bible Prophecy.
I grew up in the era before Personal Computers. I remember seeing the first PC at school, a Microbee. I remember the school's first photo copier. I remember when 'mobile phones' were only mobile because they were in cars. I met the internet when researching. Then you would wait 2 weeks for a book to come in, but it was just beginning you could find some current research work published on the internet. But the most remarkable advance is the world-wide distribution of picture phones. Even the poorest may access images from about the world and be connected. Even Refugees complain of not being able to plug in and charge their 'smart' phones.
Consider
For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low: And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up, And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall, And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures. And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. And the idols he shall utterly abolish. And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. (Isaiah 2:12-19)
The term in bold is "pictures of desire", the fundamental motivation of consumerism. In the modern world pride of corporations is shown in tall towers, there are incredible numbers of ship movements due to global trade for things desired (not needed) and all this is now being controlled by people using Smart Phones, I-Pads and computers connected to the internet. All of trade, from the smallest transaction in cash got from a machine to the largest stock exchange takeover, is now performed on the devices with 'pleasant pictures'. Yet few consider that in a moment the plug can be pulled.
But there more evidence the Bible predicted and understood the unique things of our age!
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. (Revelation 1:7)
The only way every eye could see Jesus is that they have access to a device that allows them to see someone in real time, live on the other side of the world. In addition even the very poor in some of the remotest places can see someone live, if not on TV on a phone. An example is world cup soccer in 2014, where over 1 Billion are estimated to have watched live some portion. For the Euro Soccer UEFA of 2016 a staggering 5 billion people watched live on television some part of the 24 teams in 51 matches. Nobody could have predicted this, it could not have been conceived by anyone. Imagine the King of the Jews on the mountains of Israel, how many could tune-in to see? The events of Revelation 1:7 will occur before the earthquake of Isaiah 2. Two sections of text one Jewish one Christian together showing an accurate picture of things specific to this age. Chance? Who would be bold enough to say that either prediction couldn't happen, when the conditions required of 'pleasant pictures' so 'every eye can see' which none could predict 2,000 years ago, already have come into existence. Would a global earthquake 'pull the plug' on the pictures people care about associated with merchants? You and I both know the answer.
39. Family History
The huge body of Family History research now existing is strong evidence for the truth of the Bible. All family histories share three things in common. Firstly, these histories are of necessity public because people are aware that their ancestors are also many other people's ancestors. Secondly, they are all reliant on written records of the individuals in a nation's history. Thirdly, they have stopped at certain people only for want of earlier written documentation and lack of certain knowledge, but otherwise would keep going back in history. The family history in the Bible has a lot of authentic detail and is consistent in that detail from beginning to the end. It would be impossible to imagine a history over so many years without patterns, self congratulation and fundamental contradictions. The genalogies of the Bible cannot be separated from the core theme of the covenants and miracles, all leading to Christ.
5) 40. Israel Miracles of the Six day war
19 years
On May 15, 1967, as the people of Israel celebrated Independence Day (Yom Atzmaut), the Israeli government received some bad news. It had been exactly nineteen years since the declaration of the Jewish state and the beginning of the War for Independence. That same day in 1967, it seemed that the unfinished war had resumed as the Israeli government learned of Egyptian forces massing in the Sinai under the command of Gamal Abdel Nasser. http://ffoz.org/discover/messiah-magazine/miracles-of-the-six-day-war.html
It was 19 years from when Jerusalem was first destryed to it final dectrution by the Babylonians, and again 19 years from the return under Ezra to the rebuilding of the temple
The 1st Day. By 7:30 AM, two hundred Israeli Air Force (IAF) planes were in the air, heading towards Egyptian airbases. Though flying very low, so as not to be detected by the scores of Arab radar sites, a Jordanian radar facility detected an unusually large number of aircraft heading towards the sea. The officer on duty immediately sent a message, ?Inab,? the codeword for war, to Jordan military headquarters in Amman. The message was encoded and passed on to Egypt?s defense minister in Cairo. Miraculously, however, the Egyptian coding frequencies had been changed the previous day, and the Jordanians had not been updated. That morning, with the element of surprise in their favor, the IAF obliterated six Egyptian airfields?two in Egypt proper and four in the Sinai Desert?destroying 204 Egyptian planes, half of their air force. Though Egypt had sufficient anti-aircraft ammunition to destroy all the attacking Israeli planes, miraculously, no order was given for these missiles to be launched. The Israelis accomplished their mission with practically no resistance. The total air superiority achieved on the first day of the war drastically reduced the enemies? combat abilities. http://www.chabad.org/multimedia/timeline_cdo/aid/525321/jewish/June-5-Day-1.htm
The Conquest of Shechem
The town of Shechem [AKA Nablus] is one of the largest in all of Judea and Samaria. IDF analysts surmized that the conquest of the tens of thousands of Shechem?s inhabitants would likely be one of the most difficult and bloody battles of the 6-Day War. As background to the following eyewitness account, it is important to understand that one of the largest crossings of the Jordan River leads from Jordan in the east to the Tirza riverbed, which contains a good road through the Samarian mountains right into Shechem. This is the crossing and entrance to Israel that the biblical Abraham, who was coming from the area of Iraq, used as it is written in Genesis 12, ?And Abraham traversed the land until Shechem, until Elon Moreh.? Assuming that the IDF would advance towards Shechem from Israel's coastal plain, the Jordanian army placed its heavy artillery and tanks on the other side of Shechem, in the hilly terrain overlooking the roads leading to Shechem from the west. The IDF decided therefore to outflank the enemy by fighting first to the north and west and coming back down to enter Shechem from the east, "the back door." Colonel Uri Banari tells his eyewitness account of the conquest of Shechem: "At the entrance to Shechem stood thousands of Arabs who waved white handkerchiefs and clapped their hands. In our naivete, we returned greetings and smiles. We entered the town and wondered: We are advancing and there is no disorder, no panic, the local armed guards stand by with rifles in their hands keeping order, and the crowds are cheering." "Suddenly something happened which changed the entire picture in a moment. One of our officers wanted to disarm an Arab guard. When the latter refused, our officer fired a shot in the air. At that moment, all the crowds disappeared and streets emptied out. The Arabs began sniper fire." "I didn't comprehend what had transpired. Only later, did I understand. The residents of Shechem thought that we were the Iraqi forces who were due to arrive from the direction of Jordan. The numerous enemy tanks were situated on the west side of Shechem. They woke up to their error very late." "The Arabs were surprised; the fear of the Jews fell upon them. In Hevron, and in Shechem, in Jenin and in Jericho the Arabs were heavily armed. There was not even one small Arab village without arms. With great haste, the Arabs, however, hid their weapons and didn't consider using them. They raised their hands up, and flew white flags of surrender from every edifice. The fear of G-d fell upon hundreds of thousands of proud Arabs, who were filled with hatred and loathing for Israel. Only yesterday, they had sworn to fight until their last drop of blood." [From HaTekufa HaGedola, Rabbi Menachem Kasher, Chap. Sichu B?chol Niflaotav, p. 452, 5761 edition]
A Direct Hit on an Ammunitions Pile In the late hours of the night, an IDF truck loaded with arms and shells parked next to a Jerusalem building. Its mission was to bring a fresh supply of ammunition to the front line outposts. The element of danger was great in that were the truck to be hit by enemy fire, the subsequent explosions of all the ammo would bring down all the buildings in the area on their inhabitants. Suddenly the whistling of an approaching enemy shell was heard, and the shell, indeed, scored a direct hit on the vehicle. But the Arab shell did not explode. It remained perched atop the pile of Israeli shells in the truck. [ibid, p. 456]
18 Egyptians Against Two IDF Soldiers Yisrael, a cab driver who was drafted to fight in the 6-Day War as part of the paratroop unit assigned with conquering the Straits of Tiran, told the following upon his return: ?The Israeli soldiers didn?t have to parachute out of the Nord airplanes which took them to the Tiran Straits. They landed like spoiled tourists in the airport, because the Egyptian regiment which was on guard there fled before the Israeli trips were visible on the horizon. After landing, I was sent with another reserves soldier, an electrician, to patrol the area. When we had distanced ourselves two kilometers, an Egyptian half track appeared before us filled with soldiers and mounted with machine guns on every side. We had only light weapons with a few bullets that couldn?t stop the half track for a second. We couldn?t turn back, so we stood there in despair, waited for the first shot, and for lack of a better idea, aimed our guns at them. But the shots didn?t come.
The half track came to a halt, and we decided to cautiously approach it. We found 18 armed soldiers inside sitting with guns in hand, with a petrified look on their faces. They looked at us with great fear as though begging for mercy. I shouted ?Hands up!? As we were marching them and I had returned to a state of calm, I asked the Egyptian sergeant next to me, ?Tell me, why didn?t you shoot at us?? He answered, ?I don?t know. My arms froze ? they became paralyzed. My whole body was paralyzed, and I don?t know why.? It turned out that these soldiers didn?t know that the Straits of Tiran were already in Israeli hands; why didn?t they elminiate us? I don?t have an answer. How can one say that G-d didn?t help us.? The Finger of G-d IDF Director of Operations Maj. Gen. Ezer Weizmann was asked by Mr. Levanon, the father of a fallen pilot, how he explains the fact that for 3 straight hours, Israel Air Force planes flew from one Egyptian airstrip to another destroying the enemy planes, yet the Egyptians did not radio ahead to inform their own forces of the oncoming Israeli attack? Ezer Weizmann, later who later served as President of the State of Israel, was silent. He then lifted his head and exclaimed, "The finger of G-d." [ibid, p. 445] Haaretz Newspaper?s Bottom Line Following his blow-by-blow analysis, the military correspondent for the secular Haaretz Newspaper summed up the 6-Day War with the admission: ?Even a non-religious person must admit this war was fought with help from heaven.? [ibid, p. 445] A German Viewpoint A German journalist summarized: ?Nothing like this has happened in history. A force including a 1000 tanks, hundreds of artillery cannons, many rockets and fighter jets, and a hundred thousand soldiers armed from head to toe was destroyed in two days in an area covering hundreds of kilometers filled with reinforced outposts and installations. And this victory was carried out by a force that lost many soldiers and much equipment, positions, and vehicles. No military logic or natural cause can explain this monumental occurrence.? [ibid, p. 446.] INN
Even 50 years later Arabs and many others have still not come to terms with what happened. It can't be explained. Even dicounting the eye-witness of those there, you have to explain just how such a superior force was defeated!
41. Isaiah and Cyrus
There is much 'scholarly' debate about Isaiah, because he prophesies of Cyrus 150 years before the era of Cyrus. Some seek to divide it into two books because of this, which cannot be sustained as the language, tone and themes are the same thoughout. One who is familiar cannot mistake Isiah for Jeremiah, for example!
42. Isaiah and Tyre
If the prediction regarding Cyrus is a source of modern conetention, imagine the ridicule Isaiah could have been subject to regarding the prophecy concerning Tyre! In the height of Tyre's power to say 'it would be laid waste'.

For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished. (Jeremiah 30:11)

7) 60 Brutal honesty to Good Health
60: Israel Brutal honesty in multiple failures
The Bible has an honesty and frankness no other nation's history has. It records the many and extraoridary failures of the Jews nationally and of their kings individually. There are 20 records that say that the people or king 'did evil'. The condemnation begins in Judges and continues until Isaiah.
The children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim: (Judges 2:11)
Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father. (1Kings 11:6)
I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not. (Isaiah 66:4)
What other nation has so many failures recorded and yet the records are still preserved?
The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. (Deuteronomy 7:7-8)
61.The wisdom of the Sabbath
Many stars of the world are now speaking of the wisdom of the Sabbath, as they turn off Social Media, but the truly great wisdom belongs more with the context of the ancient world where the rest of the 7th day given to servants (or slaves) and the animals. It is strange we do not hear the modern world heap praise on God for this wonderful law of consideration and care!
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day. (Deuteronomy 5:14-15)
62. Instruction manual for a Good Life
Even atheists like the Judeo-Christian system, for the good patterns of life. There is one astounding statsistic that ought to put a life within Bible values high on that of a happy society- that of domestic violence
US Professor Christopher Ellison found men who often go to church were 72 per cent less likely to abuse their partners than were men who never went, adding: ?Religious involvement, specifically church attendance, protects against domestic violence.? New Zealand Professor David Fergusson was clear: Christianity saves women. Tracy summed up his findings: ?11.2 per cent of husbands who never attended church assaulted their wives. But only 2.2 per cent of husbands who attended church at least monthly assaulted their wives, while 6.2 per cent of husbands who attended church sporadically assaulted their wives.? Bolt)
A Song of degrees. Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD. (Psa 128:1-4)
63. Design Manual for Happiness
Social cohesion ? knowing people over a good range of ages handing down of wisdom help and co operation.
Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God: (Psa 146:5)
64. Cleanliness and Health
65. Rightness of separation of diseased
The way given to Moses for the Jews to walk in was wise in relationship to dealing with contagious disease. Even today immunisation, apart from chance of side efects is not always effective. Separation and isolation of those who come in contact, is the only way. Also that those who touch anything dead must wash.
8) 70: Israel Unique preservation of the Tanakh
It is written of Abraham. For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. (Gen 18:19)
71. The preseveration and multiplication of the Bible
The invention of the printing press
William Tyndale allowed the Bible to be readily avaible in English, which became a widely used language due to traders, and sucess in war
Worldwide distribution into all languages has occured as the Bible has been translated into many small languages at huge personal cost
72. Failure of great inter-nations from Babel
Nimrod sought to unite all at Babel, but seeking for such unity has always been broken up, by smaller groups emerging to challenge the hegemony of those that seek unity.
Beacsue the God of the Bible control the borders that none should control all
Archaelogical evidence
This I put here, as it hasn't been among the first reasons I believe. I have quiet confidence based on other evidence that what is found will be in accord with the Bible, but I realise that in fact not much will be found! Quite simply, how many leave evidence of themselves in stone or something that won't decay: In a culture asked not to make images? In a era where nothing is wasted, with anything precious being re-made! This is why archeologists so love sudden destruction, when a moment in time is captured, that is never found elsewhere. In addition older dating is often based on theory. Until the world began a unified year 'AD' dates were based on years in leader's rule, and become more uncertain the further before 'BC' they are.
The most exciting finds therefore are always those that have preserved writing, the best being writing about events, such as conquests. Thus Archaeology establishes the wonderful legacy we have when history is preserved by firstly writing it and then copying it and handing it to the next generation.. such as legacy of history we have in the Bible.
73. Evidence in cultures for a flood
I am always struck by the Australian aborginals feature of the rainbow serpent, as it can be seen as mixing of an account that has a serpent and a rainbow.
74. Tel Dan Evidence for King David
Arguments as to king David's historical existence were silenced by the finding of a ninth-century B.C. inscription stone slab (or stela) discovered in 1993 in an excavation by Israeli archaeologist Avraham Biran in Tel Dan.
The broken and fragmentary inscription commemorates the victory of an Aramean king over his two southern neighbors: the 'king of Israel' and the 'king of the House of David.' In the carefully incised text written in neat Aramaic characters, the Aramean king boasts that he, under the divine guidance of the god Hadad, vanquished several thousand Israelite and Judahite horsemen and charioteers before personally dispatching both of his royal opponents. the ?House of David? inscription has confirmed the essential historicity of King David from the Bible biblicalarchaeology.org
9) 80: Blessing, Design and Purpose
80: Israel: The blessing on those that bless the natural sons of Abraham, Isaac and Israel
Britain is a great example. Jews came with the Normans to Britain. When the nation expelled the Jews they were not a nation of any note. The development of Greate Britain's empire may begins in the era of Elizabeth I, but much greater progress is made after the era of Cromwell, who allows dissenters some freedom (as long as they are not Catholic or monarchists) and who allows Jews to re-settle. Spain and Portugul were nascent empires until they exported their Jews. Their decline may be seen in the years after, more so as they supress all dissent.
81. Need for meaning and purpose in Life
There are very few humans happy with no purpose or objective in life.
A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet. (Pro 29:5)
82. Purpose in good design
83. The great Architect
Yahweh Elohim of Israel is credited as the architect for three buildings. There is considerable distance in time between the first two designs for the Tabernacle and the Temple but some striking similarities. Both Moses and David maintained they obtained the pattern from Yahweh Elohim directly. Architects generally are not known for hiding their idenity. Moses' account of how he obtains the pattern (plan) does not flatter himself or Israel, as it includes the account of the worship of the golden calf. David's account adds that he was prevented from building it because he had shed blood.
The third design of a great temple is given to us though visions given to Ezekiel where he walks though it following an angel measuring it. As the vision contains a promise to Ezekiel and significant condemnation of the people, we have to conclude it was not a figment of Ezekiel's mind.
When artists wished to portray the God of the Bible they have used the image of the great Architect, because not only has the God of Isarel designed builings, he is shown to be the maker and designer of all things
According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. (1Cor 3:10)

89. Design of light in the Universe
Because of the location in the galaxy the sky has stars but is not blindingly bright.
The most remarkable thing about the universe is that it has clusters in beautful patterns. There ought to be no patterns.
10) 90: Israel: fruitfulnness in modern world
The Blessing of Israel to the modern world
Once when asked to 'divest' of Isarel,an honest person found that too much was essential to modern life. Not only has the dry nation of Israel been supplying fruit to Europe, they have been supllying invention and innvation to the world.
But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come. For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown: And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded: And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. (Ezekiel 36:8-11)
91. The rightness of Objective Truth
There may be surface contradiction and complexity to all underlying truth, making it hard to find, but once found it has a complex clarity tha leads to understading of other truth. By contrast the opposite to truth, which is a lie, leads only to confusion. Often embarassment comes to the liar, and even further they conceal the initial lie with further lies.
I have found in life that when looking for the truth of a matter, that when I meet illogical confusion I have met a liar. One ancestor was impossibly elusive, as their reported age and parents never made sense, and no record of their existence could be found. It was known the son had gone to England to see the ancestral parish and not found any record of him or relatives, to which the father obtusely admitted a surname change. Amoung the descendants in the era of indexed and digitised information, there was confusion, as there was nothing at all that made sense as to who he was or where he came from. DNA triangles finally established that the ancestor had assumed another's identity with a different age, and the age each time it was reported tended to drift to the truth. In assuming another's identity he had been inconsistent, when later asked to report his parents names he used his real parents first names but creatively amended their surnames to match his lie, resulting in utter confusion to any descendents who might try to probe his (and their) origins. The curious fact was that even with strong irrefutable evidence, such is the confusion of the lie that some found it hard to accept the almost unrecognisable truth when it was reavealed.
92. Value of humility (the curse of pride
The humility of the Bible is clearly to not be a doormat, as Christ and Moses were both described as humble, and both on occasion delivered authoritative stinging rebukes. The humility of the Bible is the opposite of pride.
In my experinece pride prevents us from learning, as I have often had to accepet harsh rebuke to learn more, but also pride often goes with authority and positions of power. It would seem on the surface that the meek do not inherit the earth!
But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. (Psa 37:11)
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. (Matthew 5:5)
But Y'shua is not saying that this state of blessing for the meek is in this dispensation of things - but rather he says it is a future state! The point of the Bible's truth is that in this age, as may be observed by anyone, the meek inherit nothing much!
It may be observed that the closer people are to speaking truth to power the more likely they are to be subject of recrimination and persecution, this is exactly as Y'shua said.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. (Matthew 5:10-11)
However truth often previals, due to truth having a greater power to be clear, and pride has such pecuilar deficits in preventing learning from mistakes that it may lead people to power, but it will also lead to to their failure. The following proverb may be observed over time playing out in every workplace and in all the global halls of power.
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. (Proverbs 16:18-19)
95. Beauty of Mathematical Descriptions
From ancient times one of the core areas of useful learning has been maths, including geometry. In His book The unreasonable effectiveness of mathematics in the natural sciences Eugene Wigner wrote, "the enormous usefulness of mathematics in the natural sciences is something bordering on the mysterious and that there is no rational explanation for it". In The Recollections of Eugene P. Wigner with Andrew Szanton Wigner added "The full meaning of life, the collective meaning of all human desires, is fundamentally a mystery beyond our grasp. As a young man, I chafed at this state of affairs. But by now I have made peace with it. I even feel a certain honor to be associated with such a mystery." In his collection of essays Philosophical Reflections and Syntheses (1995), he commented: "It was not possible to formulate the laws of quantum mechanics in a fully consistent way without reference to consciousness."
Wiger, having rejected his ancestral Judaism and also his families politically adopted Lutheranism, could not see into the mystery, but the rational explanation for the usefulness of mathematics is that it can only come from a description of order and order can only come if it is ordered, or Ordained. The natural state of the world indicates that without an ordering principle things become messy or 'without form and void'. I have two observations of spaces: All horizontal surfaces abhor vacancy and disorder increases in and on all spaces until order is imposed. All landscapes if not tended by humans will have weeds and be disordered. Robert Osserman in his attempt to describe the Poetry of the Universe in 1995 from how people calculated the circumference of the earth to, mapping to the Gaussian distribution to the mathematics describing space quotes Richard Feynman, The character of Physical law ?Every one of our laws (in context laws of nature eg gravity) is a purely mathematical staement in rather complex and abstruse mathematics..Why? I have not the slightest idea...To those who do not know mathematics it is difficult to get across a real feeling as to the beauty, the deepest beauty of nature.? Osserman adds, ?Created in the first instance to provide deeper insights into the nature of the world around us, the language of mathematics develops its owns structure and order, its own beauty and fascination.?
I would argue that if Mathematics is a 'creation' to approximate nature and to model it, then the beauty and order of nature is also a Creation where the Creator develops structure and order. Mathematics itself proves that the beauty of order and structure come from the work of the highest intellect. An even higher intellect was needed to make the mystery of Beauty of the order of nature itself!
My experinece is that I use in the real world a lot simple and very useful mathematics. The use of scale and form requires the laws of similar triangles and geometry. Ray tracing in a simple cultivation using Sine, Cos and Tan tables is used for shadow predictions. Measuring the complex impacts of climate in a building is a mathematical calculation of resistance. Engineering also has Mathematica descriptions from the resolution of forces in structures to those complex forces of nature on structures, including wind and earthquake. All can be done on the back of an envelope, but computers have made these beautiful things a 'black box' to the modern generation,
The identification of a Maker of the order which is mystery to the minds of those who reject God, does not identify which God is the maker of the order that may be explained by elegant and beautiful mathematics. However whereas no other religious text in the world has any maths whatsoever the Bible maintains that the God of the Bible has designed mathematically beautiful structures including cubes! The measurement of temple of Ezekiel's prophecy were so interesting mathematically that Isaac Newton studied them. There perhaps are other layers of numbers and meaning and to go deeper there is no equivalent to Gematria in any other religious text. Though Gematria may be interesting it is best supported by reading of the text. But of most interest to me is the role and beauty of numbers in Bible history and prophecy of the lives of people and nations, including the use of 7 and 1260 (180x7) which is the number of days in 3.5 years (half of 7 years the cycle of the land) and 360, the useful number of approximate solar days in a lunar year and the perfect number of degrees to describe a circle.
96. The Unknown age of the earth and universe
There is much arguement about the age of the earth, little of which affects the Bible itself. The Bible does not date the age of the earth at all- it says in the beginning the earth was without form and void. This best matches all reliable evidence. Rates of radioactive decay in Urianium isotopes in lead seem to make the earth 4.5 billion years, much older than 6,000 years. Some argue that such dating is inaccurate. It may well be. But the science of the decay of Isotopes is not in doubt, being measurable. The questions come in in terms of the accuracy of measurementt, and the possiblity of non-uniform conditions in history. If it was one isotope we may doubt, but others also yield such a large number of years. But the real issue for all is that the age of the earth doesn't match the age of the universe deduced from light gathered from distant galaxies. For the Bible beliver whose God is eternal, why should there have to be a beginning to the universe? The formation of the earth's surface by contrast we are told did have a beginning, and observations agree there is evidence of dramatic formation, as well as sedimentary formation. When that occured might be a fertile area for arguement. In any case "x" million or "y" Billion years isn't enough for mutations to morph a cell to a fish, let alone for inert organic stuff to become life.. from nothing. For me the Bible's truth and reliablity is that it tells me that somebody made everything I see from stuff - an observable fact of life. But the Bible's greatest observation may explain why the futher we look the more we see into what looks like a vanishing point that may as well be eternity.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (Romans 1:20)
97. Musical intervals & Rhythms
98.Joy in sheer beauty of the world
There is a deep emotion elicited in seeing grand and glorious landscapes of the awesome splendor of the natural world. Many travel great distances to stand breathless on the end of a vast chasm or eroded rock. No picture can prepare you for the experince of the Grand Canyon, the structures of Utah or the vast depth of the fjords of Norway.
99.The pattern of the kingdom glory
100: Zion Versus Babylon
Those who do the most to fight and defeat the Bible, do the most to fulfill it. Babylon is gone, but the heritage of Babylon has the same spirit. Babylon was condemned in that it punished Israel.
by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth. (Revelation 18:23-24)
Since the call went out for Jews to return to their homeland, many stress, world leaders and the UN have had great upset and angst and put great pressure upon Jews, even to inventing a people and claims that Isarel's actions violate international 'law'.
Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. (Zec 2:7)
This is a work in progress
101: the personal experience of answered prayer and providence
There is hardly a day that goes by in my life wihout some small thing that can only make sense if the God of the Bible knows my thoughts, and is acting day to day in my life. He doesn't always stop people doing wrong to me, but the long outcome to me is never harm but good to me, as He protects me as I pray each day.
This poor man cried, and Yahweh heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of Yahweh encamps round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that Yahweh is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear Yahweh, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. (Psalm 34:6-9)
