It is interesting to note how many times we see reference to the “nations” in general terms in the Bible. It is from the sea and the isles of the sea that they shall sing of the majesty of Yahweh
They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of Yahweh they shall cry aloud from the sea. Wherefore glorify ye Yahweh in the fires, even the name of Yahweh God of Israel in the isles of the sea. From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously. (Isaiah 24:14-16 )
From the USA, from across the seas. voices have been lifted to God with cries and prayers about “treacherous dealers” that have brought great consternation to the Republicans in the US. They have seen corruption on such a scale that was unbelievable. They have seen great election meddling and manipulation from the Democrats who want God removed from the minds of the people and the Constitution, and their crimes against humanity reveal their lack of compassion and denial of the Creator and His commands and they accept lies and deceit as their right.
During Trump’s campaign in 2016, comparisons of Trump to Cyrus, referred to in Isaiah as God’s ‘anointed’, who though not Jewish, served the Hebrew God and aided the Jewish people, circulated widely among evangelical and some Jewish circles. The following section from Isaiah 45 describes Cyrus’ role in Yahweh’s purpose and the revealing of himself as the God of Israel so that Cyrus would know him. It is quite possible that Daniel in Persia would have acquainted Cyrus with the plight of Israel and possibly the 70 year captivity of the Jews.
Thus saith Yahweh to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, Yahweh, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
In the following verses there is the repetition of a phrase that made me stop and consider that there could indeed be two applications for a man, not Jewish, but appointed to play an important role among the Jews and in Trump’s case both Jews and Gentiles. If there were two applications we can see that both Cyrus and Trump were concerned about and helped Israel in fulfilment of Yahweh’s will and Israel’s destiny. If this is so, Yahweh must have seen the qualities and chatacteristics in both men that would achieve his purpose.
For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me. I am Yahweh, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am Yahweh, and there is none else. (Isaiah 45:1-6)
Cyrus was raised to do an important work as a shepherd for Israel and a link in the plan and purpose of Yahweh. He appears as a compassionate, understanding, and sympathetic ruler and willing to do what was required to perform Yahweh’s “pleasure” as Yahweh says.
Of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid. (Isaiah 44:28)
It appears that Cyrus had knowledge of the expected return of the Jews to their homeland at the end of the 70 year captivity and the reference to Jeremiah gives a sense of the influence of Jeremiah.
Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, Yahweh stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath Yahweh God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? Yahweh his God be with him, and let him go up. (II Chronicles 36:22-23 )
Daniel’s influence and understanding also would certainly have extended to Cyrus.
He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions. So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian. (Daniel 6:27-28)
Trump’s Presidency 2017-2020 was Significant
Trump is not a politician but a business man and he had seen in the many decades of his experience the corruption of the Deep State in Washington. He was wealthy and did not need to enter into politics, but he was driven by the need and urgency for someone to try to clean out the Swamp. He did not know the depths of that swamp and that it was full of dangerous creatures.
Under Trump the USA has undergone an Awakening that is unprecedented. The wealthy politicians had created a Government to suit their corrupt agenda that would deprive the people of the US of their rights. With money laundering, collusion with other nations and powers in industry and banking, they gained wealth for the few, themselves. With bribery and blackmail they ensured that they had a following to ensure their domination in the politics of the nation and to bring the people into subjection and to their ideology of communism and the destruction of the foundations enshrined in the Constitution. The founding Fathers envisioned the nation as “One nation under God” and freedom of worship. For Jews and Christians who had for thousands of years been victims of persecution.
In Trump the Republicans found a man who understood their frustrations, was a life long supporter of the faithful Jews, cared for the state of Israel and was known to want to destroy the deep state corruption which would destroy through re-education the knowledge of the nation’s history. The Democrats are responsible for crimes against humanity and evil hidden from the nation.
In his Presidency Trump declared Jerusalem as the rightful capitol of Israel, moved the US Embassy to Jerusalem, permitted the building on the mountains of Israel as promised and achieved Peace Deals between Israel and Arabs. These were signs that he would do what he promised. He also improved many aspects of life for the people. By fighting for the wall to be completed to prevent the entry of criminals, drug dealers and illegals into the USA .
Building on the Mountains of Israel
Is this of Biblical significance? It is most significant for today . The prophet Ezekiel has many references to Jews dwelling in safety on the mountains after having been gathered out of the nations into their own land and before the Gogian northern host invades Israel. Ezekiel’s prophecies cover the nation’s scattering, purging and regathering up to the end of mans’s rule in the last days.
Trump’s support of Israel is a phenomen, the like of which has not been seen since the time of Lord Balfour. Trump acknowledged the Jews’ right to build on the mountains..The help given to the Jews following WW2 was largely from the USA and Australia in settling Jewish refugees. Before the 2016 election Donald Trump made promises regarding Israel and that he supported Israel’s right to build on the mountains and that Jerusalem was Israel’s capital. In his Presidency he kept these promises and also moved the Embassy to Jerusalem. Before his Presidency US Administrations planned a two state solution to bring peace between the Arabs and Jews, by taking more land from Israel and stopping the Jews from building on the mountains of Israel. From the Bible we have a few quotations that specifically prophesy of Jews dwelling in safety on the mounains..
I will seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day. And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country.
I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel. I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord GOD. (Ezekiel 34:12-15 )
And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing. And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am Yahweh, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them. And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid. (Ezekiel 34:26-28)
Prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of Yahweh: Thus saith the Lord Yahweh; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession: Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord Yahweh; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen….Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Yahweh; Thus saith the Lord Yahweh to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that are round about;
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey. Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, ... I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the shame of the heathen: . (Ezekiel 36:1-8 )
And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Yahweh; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land: [22] And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all: (Ezekiel 37:21-22 )
Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil? Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it? (Ezekiel 38:13-14)
And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel: And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand. Thou (Gog) shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: (Ezekiel 39:2-4 [)
Micah speaks of the final glory to be established on the MOUNTAINS.
But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of Yahweh shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. (Micah 4:1 )But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of Yahweh of hosts hath spoken it. (Micah 4:1-4 )
Gogian Host and the Merchants of Tarshish
Ezekiel 38 is frequently quoted in Biblefocus in relation to the invasion of Israel in the Last days of man’s rule on the earth. The following section relates to the main players at that time.
After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou (Gog) shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thee. ...
And thou (Gog) shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people (Israel) that are gathered out of the nationss, that dwell in the midst of the land.
Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil? Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord Yahweh; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it? (Ezekiel 38:8-9, 11-14)
The drama of the destiny of the Jewish refugrees has been playing out since 1917 and the Balfour declaration that promised the Jews could return as a nation to their homeland, Palestine. Before Donald Trump’s Presidency, Britain had been given the task of Protectorate of the territory and with her favouring the Arabs and trade she betrayed the Jews who received less than 30% of the land and Jordan was created for the Arabs. After 1967 Israel, having won the six Day War started by the Arabs, finally had access to Jerusalem. In 2008 Israel gave Gaza to the Palestinians to appease them and hopefully create some peace.
Up until Trump’s Administration many countries supported a Two State solution by which Israel would lose more territory and prevent the Jews from dwelling on the mountains of Israel, Judaea and Samaria. Would this bring peace or further weaken Israel? Who would acquire Jerusalem? Trump thwarted these plans, acknowledged that Jerusalem was Israel’s capital, moved the USA’s Embassy to Jerusalem and laid the foundations of a Peace Plan between Jews and Arabs. It was an unprecedented “awakening”.
We come now to the Merchants of Tarshish. Britain probably the greatest trader in history and with its Commonwealth of nations has been considered by Bible students to be the modern day “Tarshish”. If we now look at the period since 1917 we can see a number of reasons that make a case that Britain has to change policies to show she fits that position. Having betrayed Israel as a protective nation , then joined the EU with her status drastically declining, her adoption of a two state position for Israel that would go against Biblical prophecy and then abandonned some of her colonies, which had supported Britain in the two World Wars and lost many young men from their small populations. The ANZACS lost many in a senseless attack at Gallipoli and in Europe. The Australian Light Horse campaign captured Beer- Sheba opening the way for the defeat of the Turks. In WW2 the Anzacs again went to Britain’s aid but it was the USA that came to help Australia against the Japanese who bombed Darwin and posed a very real threat to the nation.
Of the two nations the UK and the USA, the USA under Trump stands out as the friend and supporter of Israel. When Trump returns to power, as I believe he will, as the eldest of the Young Lions and Britain’s first colony he will have a nation ready to accept the Messiah, Israel’ s King
Let the Earth Rejoice
The people will then raise their voices in thanks and praise, among those who dwell in rthe isles.
Yahweh reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof. Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne. ... the earth saw, and trembled. The hills melted like wax at the presence of Yahweh at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory. (Psalms 97:1-6 )
He shall bring forth judgment unto truth. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. (Isaiah 42:4 )
Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof…. let them shout from the top of the mountains. Let them give glory unto Yahweh, and declare his praise in the islands. (Isaiah 42:10-12)
Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of Yahweh thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee. [10] And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee. (Isaiah 60:9-10 also (Isaiah 66:18-20)
For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel. Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither. They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn. Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock. (Jeremiah 31:7-10 )
And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD. So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. (Ezekiel 39:6-7 )
Today we see the US being condemned and ridiculed by the other nations saying it has fallen following the months under the Biden Administration. Can the USA be raised again to indeed be “One nation under God” despite their adversaries’ evil intent? What nation is Tarshish. Is it the UK with its betrayal of the State of Israel in relation to the Balfour Declaration, her support of the plan to take more land from Israel and give it to the Palestinians and a history of non recognition of the state of Israel?
Or has the USA taken on the role as the young lion now grown up and matured and that protected the other young lions as demonstrated when the mother used and then deserted the young lions in war time and then chose the EU?
It also of note that it was in the USA in the 1800’s that there was a reformation movement that began a new searching of the Bible in a search for Truth.
Sidney Powell a prominent laywer of the USA last year said that the issue that faced the US was of Biblical magnitude.
