There are adds encouraging people be vaccinated, to get back to 'normal' and multiple messages from people I meet is that they now will not die. It made me think of the serpent's message.
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: (Genesis 3:4)
This lie by the Serpent was the first great lie, and it is a popular lie. There are any amount of religions and sects with no evidence whatsoever claiming that we will not die. It is an old lie, as evidenced in the Egyptian belief that they could take things into an after life (though the tomb raiders may indicate that some at least were rather more sceptical). Some believe that we might come back in another form. Some maintain part of us wafts to heaven. But the Bible is strong:
In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it were you taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. (Genesis 3:19)
The Serpent lied - they were to surely die.
Man that is in honour, and understands not, is like the beasts that perish. (Psalm 49:20)
The point of the Psalm is that exceedingly rich and powerful people are as nothing, if they do not understand God: they perish as a dead animal left on a road, that pulverises then becomes dust. Only those who seek and understand God are redeemed from the dust.
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah. (Psalm 49:15)
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. (John 5:25)
In this context we have many leaders, people in great honour, who make no mention of God whatsoever, implying in a plague that if their population do a thing they will not be seriously ill or die. Back on 22 March 2021 America was told,

The Fox is known as a wilily cunning beast, but notice the honoured 'experts'? What is very strange is that percentage-wise even from the beginning, of those who had the virus very few under 60 were dying. Some 30-40% of any community the plague affected from a ship to the Orthodox of New York who were not even getting it, for reasons not well understood, and perhaps half who had it were without strong symptoms. On the other hand every now and then a young person would die and the hospitalisation and death rate was higher than the worst recent flu, especially in those over 60.
And yet those held in honour (without knowledge of God) have in at least one instance of an advertising campaign promised the people vaccination 'is our chance to play on, keep the lights on, keep the old safe, keep our family safe, protect our way of life.'
The message is coming from many held in honour.

The NHS recommends that vaccination is the best protection for everyone from severe disease, risk of hospitalisation and death due to COVID-19. NHS UK
A more nuanced claim,
While they are all highly effective at preventing severe COVID-19 illness and death, no vaccine is 100% effective, and some COVID-19 cases will still occur. Canada Health
Yet those in honour, we are told may have no knowledge of what truly matters. They are saying that their way prevents death. Unless they fully understand that God only gives life, they may well be in honour but are as the Serpent - a beast that perishes that lies.
Mankind that is in honour, but who understands not, is like the beasts that perish. (Psalm 49:20)
Who gives protection from severe disease? Let us consider!
Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians. (2Chronicles 16:12)
The physicians were held in honour, but at the end the disease was exceeding great!
After all this the LORD smote him (Jehoram) in his bowels with an incurable disease. (2Ch 21:18)
Who should we seek to prevent severe disease and death? What knowledge do we need to know? Solomon after looking at all matters under the sun, including that death comes to all notes his conclusion.
And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. (Ecc 12:12-14)
Many may have been wearied in gaining great learning, and have great honour from others in having obtained it, but unless they fear God and keep his commandments all was in utter vanity.
In this plague called Covid-19 none in Authority (those held in honour) have called on the people to repent and seek forgiveness for their great sins! There are great sins from personal pride, to national wholesale rejection of God's laws. Yet Moses witnessed to all, then and now!
And said, “If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that heals thee.” (Exodus 15:26)
Will those in honour in this time of plague be of any help to the people? Why are so many vaccinated dying? Why is it now known that the vaccinated can spread the virus? Are they as the serpent, a beast. saying to the people 'you shall not die', when their way is only to a sure death of dying unto death? Why will they not humble themselves as the leader of Nineveh?
The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. (Mat 12:41)
Let us indeed seek healing – in blessing God, by repenting, seeking forgiveness of God and seeking his sure promise of healing from severe disease and eternal death.
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; (Psalm 103:2-4)
