Censorship: How can such a thing be?

15th January 2021, hej

Many in what some call the free world are pondering with some fear the impending environment, where big tech, media and supra-state organizations have shown they have such power and where the only 'narrative' that is accepted is the dominant 'narrative' of those elites. Many are now seeking a Saviour. They know salvation won't come from humans: they are seeking the God of the Bible.

When leaders cannot allow truth to be sought freely for fear other things will be found, they oppress. Oppression results in injustice. When there is no justice and there is oppression on earth, people have no other option but turn to the God of the Bible.

Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. (Psalm 146:3)

Injustice is not new. Solomon observed “If thou see the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regards; and there be higher than they.” (Eccl. 5:8)

Solomon himself was subject to an application of this oversight of justice. His faith waned, his wisdom and justice departed and he began to oppress and make a 'grievous yoke' (1 Kings 14:4). Adversaries were raised by God against him, including a young man Jeroboam who was given power to take 10 tribes from him.

If we humble ourselves and seek God's help, as the help of human leaders is in vain, we may ask for God to arise and remove the arrogant who oppress.

He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it. Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble. Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it. Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless. Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none. (Psalm 10:11-15)

Solomon established that we will be heard if we pray facing the place where Yahweh the God of Israel said he would hear prayers of the repentant who put all their trust in Him. Even if not a Jew, but a stranger, we will be heard.

Moreover concerning the stranger, which is not of thy people Israel, but is come from a far country for thy great name's sake, and thy mighty hand, and thy stretched out arm; if they come and pray in this house; Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all people of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name. (2 Chron. 6:32-33)

We do not need to go there, we can look towards the place Yahweh Elohim put his name in Jerusalem- it is enough!

If they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity.. and pray toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name: Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people which have sinned against thee. (2Chron. 6:38-39)

Jehoshaphat's prayer was heard and authenticated, with a miracle. He prayed, “O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?... If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.” (2 Chron. 20:6,9)

In 2020 there came a global pestilence. Didn't all the world trade with China knowing they were an oppressor? Then in America, which has such pride in its freedom and rule of law, with a great collusion, there came one of the greatest lack of justice of multiple cases of election fraud ever witnessed. It was witnessed by the whole world if they looked (from Sweden to New Zealand), more eyewitnesess came forward with lesser and greater matters of fraud or irregularity that they witnessed than are noted as being eyewitness for the resurrection of Christ. It seems clear that many judges and lawmakers hardened their heart regarding the power of the elite, and forgot there is a King in Heaven. It is an issue that most forget. Most look for a human leader, and forget who really rules. Samuel rebukes the people for wanting a human leader as king, “When ye saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, ye said unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over us: when the LORD your God was your king!” (1Samuel 12:12)

America for many years has had both great evil in permissive behaviour and great numbers of people that make the nation exceptional because they openly put their trust in the God of the Bible. When Britain had many faithful who understood God's work in the return of Jews to the Land, in the tradition of Isaac Newton who said it would be through a power friendly to the Jews, Britain was given the honour of both winning and holding Jerusalem, until its national faith failed. Then due to great numbers of Americans understanding the role of Israel in blessing, America was given a window a great honour in being allowed to make evident the truth that God gave an undivided Jerusalem to the natural descendents of Jacob, also called Israel. Just as Sodom would have been saved if there had been ten righteous, so many millions of Americans gave the whole nation honour. I cannot doubt that there will remain personal blessing to all who bless Israel and whose heart is open to the truth of the Word of God.

It is very clear from Israel's history that evil rulers are given to an evil people. The just and those who cry for justice and truth who do not bow their knee to Baal are hidden and cared for (1 Kings 18:13, 19:18).

It may well be that prayers for justice and salvation will be heard! The prayers of the souls under the Altar were heard and there was an earthquake of regime change (Rev 6:11).

It may be that the prayers now for justice will be answered when no less than Christ the Messiah comes as king of the Jews to Jerusalem executing justice! Christ said.

There shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.(Luke 21:25-26)

Who would have thought that the fear that Christ spoke of as a sign of his return would be the fear of so many millions for the global demise of the so called 'right' of free speech? I notice that one platform standing up to say they stand for the people is called 'Gab'. The CEO Andrew ends many news items with 'Jesus is King' gab.com (He refuses to be labelled with a demomination). He doesn't say Jesus was king, he says 'Jesus is King'. This is scripturally correct.

Pilate therefore said unto him, “Art thou a king then?” Jesus answered, “Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. “ (John 18:37)

There may be great evil out there and evil leaders sent to destroy the evil (1 Sam 24:13), but it matters to our Creator that we seek and pray for right and just leaders that we have peace. Paul wrote, “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” (1Timothy 2:1-4)

All things work for good, as God responds to us. If we seek we will find, if we knock it will be opened to us (Luke 11:9). Prayers do matter. I saw signs at various events that read 'Jesus saves'. It shows a right attitude. Perhaps the great outcome of this will be many people who lean on the God of the Bible, seeking a divine kingdom, knowing their human republic of 'we the people' has utterly failed, on a grand scale. Even if it is saved by miracle in an answered prayer now, all the world knows the republic failed at every level of governance and in every ideal of freedom. It is not hidden that it is out of American Congress itself that there are calls to discriminate by boycotting for political opinion, with even calls to remove some Senators for speaking up for the majority of their constituents. Those in prayer who stand up for truth against censorship may suffer for it, but truth will prevail. Truth only prevails, error always fails.

There is no power here on earth that is not of God's appointing, to the purpose of making a people, in Christ, fit for his kingdom.

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: (Col. 1:16)

If we look 'out there' we may see, from sea to shining sea and from one ocean to another a lack of good leadership and justice. It is not just the censorship and oppression revealed in one American election, there is the matter of all forms of censorship of truth seeking, injustice and oppression from the North to the South and from the East and now to the West. Many speak saying they escaped an oppressive regime to come to the West. Yet the West is now mired in ignorance, crime, sexual deviancy and murder, even among those who govern. Is leadership to become oppressive to teach all the value of God's just laws? The point is not that we are censored, but that truth seeking is censored. The point is not the loss of freedom, but that there is injustice. The God of the Bible loves truth, mercy and justice.

Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face. (Psa 89:14)

We may wonder if God who loves justice is King of kings and Jesus is King, why is this not seen? We who have faith see it by living our lives as if in the Kingdom serving our King knowing that leaders are given of God, but the rebellious, as yet, do not see it, and fight the King of kings.

Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. (Hebrews 2:8)

Amen: make mercy and truth evident, even so come Lord Jesus!
