YouVersion. a Bible App now with 400 million users globally, released its most popular verse for 2019. It is an antidote for the fear many people feel:
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (Philippians 4:6)
The loved
child knows its every need is met. The beloved Anointed son of God
perfectly followed his own advice to, “Take no thought for the
morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.
Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” (Mat 6:34) Y'shua
did good, while his Father fed and clothed him, until he willingly,
voluntarily, gave his life, “for the joy that was set before
him, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the
throne of God.” (Heb 12:2) His resurrection and ascension, the
power and coming, were recorded by multiple eyewitnesses of his
majesty. (2Pet 1:16)
The certainty of the Son of God's
history may be contested by doubters, but the certainty of the help
given now to those who daily trust in God as their Father cannot be
denied.
The angel of the LORD encamps round about them that fear him, and delivers them. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusts in him. (Psalm 34:7-8)
It is a lived experience. It is something we can know. The Bible asks us to try out trusting the God of the Bible, as we would try a new food sensation. In a drought, what harm is there in praying for rain? Take the case of a wrong done to us by someone more powerful than us. What harm is there is praying for help?
Many seek the
ruler's favour; but every man's judgment cometh from the LORD.
(Proverbs 29:26)
Those in trouble, who seek to know truly the God of the Bible and who in their hearts and minds have said to themselves, “I will leave the outcome in my Heavenly Father's hands,” have never been disappointed. Try it.
Fundamentally
the great gift of faith and trust in the God of the Bible is to be
able to offload every heavy burden, worry and care and find rest (Mat
11:28) How? Because even the most humble person, if they look and
seek for it, can find the substance of things hoped for, the
evidence of things not seen (Heb 11:1) for God working and
helping in their lives, today.
The maligned 'blind' faith may sense real things not seen by others, as they which are blind see; and they which see can be made blind (John 9:39). There may be a faith not of knowledge and without evidence, but this is not the rewarded faith of those who have trusted as children, and who are now the sons of God.
Beloved, now are we
the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we
know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall
see him as he is. (1John 3:2)
Those that don't have a deep trust in God, will be burdened with every care. In this age of increased knowledge there is increased sorrow (Eccl 1:18). Only those who can Trust entirely in the God of the Bible, and pray, will have joy and peace,
Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. (Php 4:4)
And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7
