4) The good news is of the kingdom

The good news is described as 'of the kingdom'

And it came to pass afterward, that he (Jesus) went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him, (Luke 8:1)
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (Matt 24:14)

This is not any kingdom, but the kingdom of God which is the revived kingdom of David. For the shepherds were told,

Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:10-11)

And Mary was told,

And, behold, thou shall conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shall call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (Luke 1:31-33).

The people of Jesus' day hearing the good news understood what Jesus told them and when Jesus came to Jerusalem they cried

Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest. (Mark 11:10)

Jesus announced this kingdom when he began preaching,

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. (Matthew 5:3-5)

Jesus was saying nothing new. The good news of the distant land (Proverbs25:25) was that the meek shall inherit the land, in Hebrew (eretz).

But the meek shall inherit the earth (eretz); and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. (Psalm 37:11)
