Matthew speaks of the “sign of the son of man”, which is the establishment of Israel as a nation. Luke adds that there will be “signs in the sun, and in the moon and stars.”
Using NASA, there have been 7 rare patterns of 4 consecutive eclipses, known as 'blood red moons' at Passover and Tabernacles since Christ.
The first was in 162/163 AD at a time of tribulation after the Jews were banned from Jerusalem. There were 3 occurrences in 795, 842 and 860 during the period when the Caliphs ruled Jerusalem.
The fifth occurred in 1493/94 at the height of the Spanish inquisition.
There were none for 300 years until the 1900's when there were 2 occurrences. In 1949/1950 after the state of Israel was formed.
From the Passover on 24th April, 1967, there was the first blood red moon, before the Six Day War. The other three followed.
The 8th group will be the last to occur for a long time. In addition there will be two solar eclipses in that set. In 2015, the solar eclipses come first, as in the prophecy, and two weeks later, the lunar eclipses.
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of Yahweh come. (Joel 2:31)
Zechariah 14 speaks of the greatest physical earth movement in recorded history, to herald the greatest political earthquake the world will see and the establishment of the Kingdom.
